SCENE 1:[/size] Sunday afternoon...
[A faint train whistle is heard in the background as the scene fades up from black on a bridge that over looks Lake Nixon in Little Rock, Arkansas. It's mid afternoon and the sun is shining. It's chilly. There is also a light breeze that makes the leaves in the trees rustle a bit.
Brandon Nytrus is standing on the bridge, looking out across the lake. He is shown in gym shorts, sneakers and is wearing the new Road 2 Glory sweatshirt. He begins to walk across the bridge. The 7-footer makes his way down to the lake-side beach. He sits on the sand and just sits, thinking.]
Brandon: It's peaceful... Getting time for yourself. Being able to sit down and relax and just be. Maybe this is what I need. A time to get away. Leave. Have time to myself. Get away from the stupidity of others. They call me stupid?
[He scoffs for a moment and looks down at the sand in between his bent knees. He picks up a small rock and chucks out across the lake. A distant *slash* is heard. He takes a deep breathe, exhaling through his nose. Birds chirp off in the trees behind him. Waves lightly crash against the sand in front of him, but that's the only sound heard at this moment.]
Brandon: You know, I'm surprised that the lake hasn't froze yet. It's not too warm here. Especially not what it's like out west. But, I like the chilliness. It reminds me of a time that once was. It was peaceful. Filled with laughter and opportunities. My childhood. South Boston isn't the best place to be raised as a kid... But I always looked on the bright side. When I started to train, everything fell into place. I saw what lied ahead for me. I saw the potential. But when I got my first gig, I had no idea what I was getting myself into.
[He pauses for a moment to look out at the water again. A rushing gust of wind passes by, only for a moment, then settles back to calm.]
Brandon: Worcester, Massachusetts... 2007... I faced a man named Silent Steve. Both of us were young, aspiring talents. It was my debut in any circuit.
We tied up and started to fiddle with holds and strikes. It was a fairly decent match, come to think of it.
Until Steve slapped on an armbar. From the moment it was locked in, I could feel my tricep tearing. I tapped immediately.
From then on, I have been training non-stop to become a beast. A monster. That nothing will ever make me submit like the little woos did back then, and for 7 years, I haven't submitted like that. I haven't felt injured once.
[He stops himself for a moment, then begins to think of TJ. The past they shared. The match ending in DQ when TJ just didn't stop on Brandon. Kept going and going. Then the following week when he came out and finally got the upper hand and then speared Kuk. Only to be beaten down in the dark by TJ's friend, Crow.
He becomes enraged and can't hold it in any longer.]
Brandon: Anthony, oh yeah, I'm talking to you, Pain... It's personal. You insult my intelligence? You insult my ability? 7 years of straight training, blood, sweat and tears, not one time have you pinned me, bud. You can have Crow come out. You can have Kuk come out. You can have that fat cow of a wife you have on your arm come out. Nevertheless, this feud is not over. Not by a long shot. You're absolutely right... The MPW has forgotten about what we had for a short time.
They've been focused on the biggest match in MPW history, Hunter vs. Soulsfate.
[He calms himself down a bit. Taking a deep inhale, and exhaling it all out through his mouth. He puts his head down for moment, then looks back up across the lake.]
Brandon: I get it. Road 2 Glory will be huge. Biggest PPV of the year, right? When stars are born and the wannabes are sent home. The biggest matches of the year happen here. Dallas, Texas, March 7th, 2013. What an opportunity to make a name for yourself. Am I right?
[He laughs and then smiles]
Brandon: Oh Tony, what a shame it would be if you had to order and watch it at home.
[He smiles and chuckles for a moment. He stands up and looks around. Suddenly, a phone call.]
Brandon: Hello?
...
Brandon: On it.
[Click.]
Brandon: Well, this is goodbye for now, Tony. Oh, and tell Roxy, Aaron put the money under her pillow.
[He winks at the camera and walks up the hill back on to the street. The scene fades out to black.]
SCENE 2:[/size] Same, thirty minutes later...
[The scene fades up on the leader of the New Generation Superstars, "The Mastermind", Dennis Brown (as Brandon likes to call him), standing in front of the Verizon Arena in downtown Little Rock. The sun is still shining, but the breeze has stopped. Footsteps are heard from many people walking up and down, Verizon Arena Way.
Suddenly, Brandon Nytrus is shown making his way up the street to Dennis, who notices him immediately.]
Dennis: Brandon! Hurry! Come here!
[There is no apparent change in Brandon's pace. He continues up and finally meets Dennis.]
Brandon: What's wrong?
[Dennis says nothing and leads Brandon inside the arena.]
Brandon: Where are we going?
[They pass the lobby and enter into the arena itself, where MPW crew have already begun work on getting TNT up.
Nytrus and Dennis continue down to the ring.]
Brandon: Why are we going down to the ring!? Dennis... Answer me, you fool!
[Dennis gets to the barricade and hops it. Nytrus begins to try but Dennis stops him.]
Dennis: Wait right here...
[He seems excited for the time being.]
Brandon: Will you please tell me what's going on?
[Dennis goes under the ring and pulls out a tiny black box. He rushes over to Brandon and opens it up. It's a huge diamond ring. Nytrus is puzzled.]
Brandon: You're asking me to marry you?
[Dennis' face turns to disgusted.]
Dennis: No, smart ass. I'm asking you, to ask Nikki to marry you.
[Brandon's face turns flush. He doesn't know what to say.]
Dennis: And... The reason I brought you down here is to ask you to do it here... In the ring... Thursday.
[Again, he is speechless.]
Dennis: I know, this is a bit short notice...
Brandon: Short notice!? Dennis, you are telling me to ask a girl to marry me, and you're asking me four days before!? Aren't these things supposed to be planned out?
[Dennis becomes more excited.]
Dennis: Way ahead of you, buddy...
CARL!!!!!!!
[Dennis points to the titantron.]
[Brandon looks up. His eyes begin to sparkle. He smiles widely. But then the realization of what's happening comes in.]
Brandon: But, ugh...I don't know, Dennis... It seems a bit... I don't know... Soon... Don't you think?
Dennis: No! It's perfect timing. It's been a couple of months. You already say you love her. You tell her that everyday. Do it everyday for the rest of your life!!
[Brandon becomes more flushed.]
Brandon: Give me time... Okay?
Dennis: Fine... Alright.
[Brandon turns around heads up the stairs. He scratches his forehead, thinking and pondering the idea. The scene fades out.]
SCENE 3:[/size] The next night...
["Strong Arm Broken" plays from the speakers as Nytrus enters onto the stage at a MPW house show in the Barnhill Arena in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The crowd boos loudly as he walks down, alone. He is a basic suit and tie and pays no close attention to the MPW Fans in attendance.
Once he makes his way into the ring, he grabs a microphone and begins to speak.]
Brandon: This week, on TNT in Little Rock, I go one on one with TJ Pain for the final spot in the Triple Threat, X-core Rules match for the X-core Championship. A man who has mocked me, blindsided me, and tried to verbally abuse me on Twitter.
Now, I'm a firm believer in taking someone up in person. And so far, TJ is the only guy that's done it since I've arrived here in MPW. Not Trey Baxter... Not Kuk... Not Roxi Johnson... Not even Chicken. TJ is the only guy that didn't wait. And that's why I have a little piece of respect for him.
On the other hand, he did need to blindside me and have his little gargoyle come out and beat me down to keep me down.
Now, as we both know, neither of us have pinned one another. We've been in one match and that ended in me winning by DQ. I think you can agree with me, that that's not good enough. This week, it's no DQ, no count out... There has to be a winner. Lose goes home. Winner, punches his ticket to Road 2 Glory to face Kuk and Gabe.
[The crowd has a small pop. Brandon pays no attention to it.]
Brandon: I've said it before and I'll say it again... It's personal. You insult me. You insult my friend. I'm going to make you eat your words, punk. Believe me, it's gonna be tough. This isn't some cake walk like you're trying to make it out to be. Oh no, this is not going to be a squash match.
I'll kick your ass in the ring... I'll kick it out of the ring... I'll kick it in the stands... I'll kick it in the back... I'll even kick it on your cow's face. Just know TJ, that this week, it's not going to be easy for you to get past me. Neither you nor Kuk will be able to just plow through me. Can either of you beat me? Of course, will you? No sure way of saying. Will it "get...real...bitch"?
[Mocking TJ in a deep, stupid sounding voice that makes the crowd laugh.]
Brandon: You bet your fat ass. Because Thursday night, will all be about how you play your cards.
You think I'm gonna cry if I lose? No. I'm more mature than that.
You think I'm out of my league? No. Because let's be honest, Teej, if I'm "out of my league"... Then why did you have to blindside me and bring "Toe" out here to beat me up... in the dark, mind you?
I'll tell you why...
Brandon: It's because you're scared.
You're scared that you talk this big game that you're better than me, that I'm a little prissy bitch who runs his mouth and has no idea what he's talking about, but in reality? This little priss can kick your ass. You saw it too! The week after you beat me up. I speared your ass out of the building. I beat you up. You showed weakness and you know it. And when that bell hits three times on Thursday? "Brandy", will throw you around. You know... His weekend hobby... Throwing shit around.
God did give me size, and I may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but I'm the only real beast here in MPW. And I'll show you the strength god gave me.
So, when both of us are laying in a puddle of our own blood at the end of our match on Thursday? Just remember these four words, "I... Told... You... So."
[He drops the mic and smiles an evil, wide smile at the camera. "Strong Arm Broken" plays from the speakers as the crowd gives Nytrus a mixed reaction. He leaves the ring and slowly and confidently makes his way up the ramp and out of the arena. The scene slowly fades to black.]
