I didn't sleep to well last night, my trip to Japan still dwells within my body and my bones ached from the beatings I took in the Dojo [Editors note read Karaoke]. Not much to do about it other than work through it, and I need to work out, I need to prepare.
I started my morning by checking up on messages and MPW in general, funny how you can leave for a week and then suddenly everything changes. First off one message said I'm facing Nytrus, but that the simple part of it, behind him stands a few people who would love to step in and lend a hand if he can't measure up to his own hype.
I got nothing against the kid, he is a solid worker and a great challenge, but still a kid at heart. He is like a little kid jumping at anything shiny hoping to run around and show his friends his new toy. Can't blame him I was there myself at one point, but that doesn't matter now I need to get back in working shape and prepare.
As I walk in to the gym I can feel my heart pounding, not sure why, maybe its because I'm anxious to start my new regiment or maybe its just the trip still haunting me. It doesn't matter all that matters is to get some work into my bones.
I start out slow with a warm up, I need to get loose for what I have planned, so a little jumping, stretching and a short run on the treadmill is what I'm going for. Now is where the fun starts I need to regain my speed and agility. These will be the key elements to find myself in the ring again, I need it to build momentum to utilize my power.
As I keep training I stare up at the training ring, trying to work out a game plan for the match, in many ways Brandon and I have a lot in common, we both ruthless and powerful brawlers, with a submission background. I'll either have to match him hold for hold or make sure not to give him any excuse to lock me in. In the back of my mind, Blood Runs Cold, keeps popping up, I can't forget about them, they may play a factor in this match.
After finishing up my work out I went for a walk trying to clear my head and get a new perspective on things. I know I can beat Nytrus, I can feel it. He isn't anything special, just another one in a million big man like myself. The problem still is the company he is keeping, either I need to be a one man army or find someone to watch my back.
Next morning
I've slept well burning off some energy in the gym really helped. Still the concerns about my match on TNT rumble inside me, but they will have to wait, cause today I have a message to sent to both Nytrus as well as the rest of MPW...
The shot opens filming Morten as he walks through the city, passing office buildings, stores, construction sites and the pulsating traffic of people and vehicles. The Dane is dressed in his usual leather jacket, washed out jeans and open boots as he works his way through the jungle of people, buildings and cars seemingly taking it all in with each step he takes towards the camera. As he gets up close he finally looks straight at it and starts to talk.
The city, a monument of human nature, a tribute to life and the perfect setting for reflection. It can wake many different associations and thoughts, be described as a jungle, a river or a battlefield, but no matter how you look at it, what it embodies most of all is change.
Again he starts walking and the camera follows
The city is always moving and evolving, as is the world of pro wrestling and the inhabitants of both worlds, the only question is in what direction we are moving. We can go towards the truth or away from it. In The State, Plato describes this as sitting in a cave bound by chains forcing us to stare at shadows, that to those who doesn't know different, these shadows are the true reality. He wonders how these people will react if you free them from the chains and guide them out of the caves, how will a person react when suddenly his whole world is changed. When what he thought was true was just an illusion. Will he survive the struggle of grasping the truth or will he get blinded by it. Furthermore, what will happen after he seen the truth and he has to return to the cave, where his truth isn't shared, will he stand firm on his believes, share them with others or just fall back into old habits.
Slowly he crosses the road and walks into a small park, where he stops and stare at his own reflection in a small pond.
With that picture in mind I look at our business in mind, I've been sitting in that cave for to long, till an old friend took me out of it by force and hammered to truth into me. Now I am descending back into that cave, and I am going to hold on tight to the truth and try to pass it on to others like it was passed on to me.
He looks back up into the camera with intensity burning in his eyes
Brandon Nytrus, is the first sitting and staring at shadows dancing on the wall, shadows of the past and present, while he dreams of gold and group up with those like him. Brandon Thursday night when we step into that ring I will free you from those chains you put yourself in. The Duke Of Extreme, The Hardcore Icon are mere shadows preventing you from reaching enlightenment. You talk about how you had a change of attitude and parade your past accomplishments clinging to the dream that others will accept you as a champion. Let me tell you Brandon, I see you for what you are, a frightened little boy wanting to be a man. Blood Runs Cold won't make you a man, titles won't make you a man, the only one who can make you a man Brandon is you!!!
And on TNT I will help you break those chains Brandon and drag you out of that cave into the sun light. Cause as they say the truth will set you free!!!
Slowly he turns away from the camera and walks away towards the city as the shot fades.
Its almost evening as I get home, I feel more confident now although I still ponder upon what to do about Blood Runs Cold. Then as I start making me some dinner I come to gaze upon a picture hanging on the fridge, a picture of a masked mad man, a picture of the solution to my problem.
I drop my dinner plans and grab the phone, dialing the number, a few rings and its picked up
Hey its Morten, I got a deal for you
Listening he waits as he gets some instructions
OK I'll be there in 15
he hangs up and storms out the door heading for the meeting with an old friend.
