Getting rid of those pea brain movers had been easy. I hated tipping them but well, I didn't really have a choice...they had managed to get my stuff up in one piece.
I look around and sigh. I don't have much yet. a bean bag chair...lots of boxes of my clothes and knick knacks but nothing to put them on. I'd even managed to get a futon thanks to Justin...I would eventually get a real bed and tonight I was going to go shopping but for now....
I opened the first box labelled clothes and up ended it. with a growl I moved on to the next one....
Finally after making my place look like a laundry mat I found what I was looking for. My bathing suit. I'd only actually worn it once before. bought it on sale last year before I'd gone to Florida but the weather had been so crappy we'd only gone swimming once.
It was a rainbow halter top bikini with yellow bottoms and it fit me beautifully. Actually, it was a little snug but whatever....
I went to my Terrace to look down at the crystal blue water of the pool and salivated. I was going to love living here....and then my mood soured. No I wasn't. Not when Jackson lived across the hall. I was never going to have any kind of refuge. Damn it. Regardless I still needed to cool off and so I grabbed a towel, smelled it and decided it was fine before heading down stairs.

My move in had been the quickest in history. I'd gotten back to my hotel, opened a yellow pages and called a company that would meet me at my storage unit, pick up my shit and deliver it. Veronica had met me there with my two new keys and had left with a big fat smile...probably because of her big fat check. I didn't have much to move in...boxes, the chair, the futon. I didn't even have food or small appliances. Well there goes my bonus check from MPW.
It's unbelievably hot outside and I don't waste any time diving right into the empty pool. I wondered why no one else was out here and then it dawned on me. It was Tuesday afternoon...most people had day jobs. I was the luckiest bitch in the world wasn't I?
I came up for air and I see something dark leaning over the edge of the pool, breaking the surface I then groan.
'Who's stalking who now Jacky boy?"
He leans back on his heels, "Um, I'm still going to go with you stalking me Miss Goddess..."
"How do you figure?" I said, looking at him like he's freakin' insane
"You move in to the locker room across from mine. You move into the apartment across from mine. And on a day as hot as this, you go swimming just knowing I'd be here. Face it, Miss Goddess... You just can't get me off your mind"
I smirk at his reasoning, "Let me clear some things up for you since your so confused.... I didn't choose my locker room, Adams did...the apartment...I didn't even know was in your building, let alone across the hall from you and let's face it, this building is fab and I wasn't going to give it up. I went swimming because it's too damn hot and I'm used to a colder climate. As for you being on my mind, honey...your delusional."
"Delusional? No, I think I'm seeing it pretty clear-headed. And I'm sure you're not stalking me at all. It was just fate that keeps putting you next to me. But, I can't say as though I blame you. And I fully see your thoughts of you and I being able to own the MPW together. You doing what you do and me... Well, me just being the baddest motherfucker walking. But, won't your plans kinda get screwy with your boyfriend in the MPW now?"
I move a hand to my wrist but realize that the elastic band is gone. Looking around I finally notice it on the bottom of the pool, it must have snapped, which doesn't surprise me since I'd been irritated all day. I can't help it, without my distraction I start to clench and unclench my fists. It's just the cherry on top of my perfect sundae.
"LOOK!" I can't help but look up at Jackson angrily. "We're not dating anymore. I don't know what he thinks is going to happen between us but the dude forgot about me for 4 fucking months! Can't say that means I meant a whole lot to him can you? and I don't know what the fuck your issue is either....." I let out an angry sigh and dive into the water with a hard splash and rise again at the ladder.
As I climb the ladder, I notice that Blaze has made his way around the pool and stands right next to it, holding my towel in his hands. "No. It doesn't sound like you don't mean a whole lot to him. But, then again we never said he was the brightest man in the room, now did we?"
He tosses the towel to me. "However, looking at it that way; Id say he's quite foolish"
I roll my eyes. What the hell? one minute he's a psycho path hell bent on making me angry and he finally succeeds and now he's trying the whole sweet talk thing.....
"Careful Blaze, you might come off as being nice..."
Blaze smiles as arrogant as ever. "It doesn't matter, Miss Goddess. You think anybody would believe the Bastard was nice?" He winks at me. "And you should try getting me off you mind a little. Might get yourself all worked up then you'll need a cold shower or another dip in that pool."
I wrap the towel around myself and look up at him with cold hard determination."Don't flatter yourself, if anybody can't get someone of their mind it's you that can't get me off yours..."
I drop the towel and move in towards him. I can't read his expression but he smiles when I put my arms around his neck and his arms land on my shoulder blades.
"I can only imagine how hot you really get thinking about me...maybe...it's really time for you to cool off..." I go on my tip toes so that I can press my lips to his and just as he's starting to really get into it, I break away and push him. He fails his arms as he lands in the water with a big splash. he comes up for air and I expected him to be angry but instead he pushes wet hair out of his face before smirking at me.
"Tootles Mr. Bastard." I wiggle a wave at him and walk away toward the gate leading back to the lobby of our building. Wow, this was going to be an interesting summer none the less.
