[The scene opens up on a rainy night. It's cold. The wet grass is frozen to frost. It's January, but it's rainy and cold at the same time in Los Angeles. In the middle of the field, stands a man about 6 foot 7. In his hand is something that looks to be a title belt. It is. It's Brandon Nytrus. In the distance, you see if you headlights pass through. He is facing a highway. He's watching the cars go by, some faster, some slower. But every single one that passes by, he watches them.
A wind picks up. You can hear rustles through the frozen leaves in the dead trees. Branches are cracking together. And the light in the distance is disturbed, by said branches getting into the rays of light extruding from the fluorescent light. Brandon stands there, undisturbed from the uncomfortable breeze.]
Brandon: As the clock starts ticking down, the final hours before Army of One are upon us. But, I am getting the sense, that many of the peers I have here in this company do not have any confidence that I will walk away as the champion after tomorrow night. Now, I'm not one to give in to what people think of me. But when people don't have faith in me, I feel a little bit differently.
[Another car passes by. He watches this one, pausing for the moment.]
Brandon: I know, that I am better than the man I am facing tomorrow night. And I think you all should know that I am better. I beat him in one of the most grueling matches anyone could step into. This match, that I'm going to step into tomorrow night… Will tear me apart. Not only will it tear me apart physically. But it will tear me apart emotionally, spiritually, and mentally. But I know, that I will step out, and still be holding my championship.
[He begins to walk, after throwing the championship over his shoulder. He pauses, only about 5 feet from the edge of the highway.]
Brandon: The cars that pass by me, at the speeds of 60 – 80 mph, is how my career will be skyrocketed after tomorrow night. You see, this highway I standby, doesn't stop. It's one continuous loop. You can drive for hours and get to so many different places. That's how my career will Continue. I will be known as the most extreme wrestler of all time. I will make you suffer, Kuk. I will make you bleed. I will make you scream. I might even make you cry. Why?
[He looks down at the championship on the shoulder, the camera pans to it. It reads "MPW X-core Champion, 'Brandon Nytrus'".]
Brandon: Because of this. This is my holy Grail. This, is my crown. This is how I will stay upon the top of the division. I will make sure that no one man that steps in my way, will take this from me without a war. And that's what we will go to at Army of One. A war. And I will go on to Road to Glory to main event and Take my spot as one of the greatest MPW superstars of all time.
[He begins to travel southward, on the side of the highway. Taking small steps. Slow, small steps.]
Brandon: It's all a bit of a cliché isn't it? The way I got here. The former champion giving up his championship to go higher. Leaving the two most deserving man at the job to take it from him. Well, needless to say, I may be a cliché, but I am no fairytale. This isn't another Cinderella story. This is the real deal. This is XTREME.0.
[He looks a bit flustered. He looks into the camera that is following in front of him. As he continues to walk down the highway.]
Brandon: And whether you like it or not, Kuk. I will win. This is going to be an all out, brutal war. And I'm ready for every second of it. I've been ready since we had that match, you know what match I'm talking about? Couple months ago. On Takedown. You and me, We stepped into the ring, with only one thing on minds, to take each other out. We didn't know each other that well, but the only rule that stuck in our heads, was only rule the match. Anything goes. We bled, we screamed. We did anything we could to break each other in half. And that's how this all started. And now? It's going to end.
[He looks both ways, and crosses the street. On the other side, is a building. He takes out some keys, and unlocks the front door. He enters. Inside, it's empty. Only single light in the middle of a big room. He disappears. Only to reappear in the little light in the center of the room. Almost like a single spotlight on an empty stage. He's looking down, he looks up, and has a crazed look in his eye.]
Brandon: I've been studying, Kuk. I've done my homework.
[He snatches fingers, and almost 40 TV screens light up. On the TV screens is moves in moments from past matches between the two. The good parts for Brandon, and the bad parts.
Kuk's thrilling fall from the top of the Takedown set.
Aaron making his first appearance on an MPW television show.
Brandon spearing Kuk through a glass pane in the Devil's Deathmatch.
And of course, Brandon pinning Kuk and winning the X – core championship.
With gray lights flashing from the televisions greens, It casts a shadow in front of Brandon, who has his head down looking at the ground. A maniacal laugh is heard. As he says to raise his head up and he starts cackling like an evil scientist. At the height of his laugh, he is looking straight up at the single light hanging from the ceiling. He finishes, and puts his head down. Everything in the entire building goes out. Except for that one light. Shining on Brandon's head.]
Brandon: Maybe I didn't make myself clear enough to you people here in the MPW locker room. I am going to win this Thursday. Whether I am favored it by you people, or not. I am the greatest X–core Champion to ever lived. And I will prove that by pinning my opponent one more time and ridding him from getting a shot at me or this title until I lose it.
[He doesn't budge. The title is around his waist now. You can see it flashing in the camera because of the light.]
Brandon: Oh, don't worry, Kuk, I'm sure there's plenty of other opportunities you can have here in this company. But, unfortunately, it seems that you just work cut out to be the X–core Champion. Hey, I heard that Madd Katt is looking to create a divas division! Maybe you should go try out.
[He laughs at his own joke. Obviously not as funny as he thought so.]
Brandon: I know I repeat myself a little too much, someone a cut to the chase here. This Thursday, will be the last chance you have. You win? Well, I have a rematch clause. Which means that I will come back and I will find a way to win it back. If you lose, well, you can't face me, or contend for this title until I lose it. Understood? But the only thing is here, but you think it's easy to beat me. You think, if you just train yourself, it's all going to be swell. I suggest a little reality check for Mr. "Hardcore Reject"…
[He's smiling, but the smile almost looks like a painful grin. He doesn't blink. His pupils are huge. He's staring. And what? It's total darkness. Is he focusing on something? An idea? A prediction? Or is he just plain out psychotic?]
Brandon: Kuk, I suggest you watch some old tapes. Because without any training in my line of art? There's no way you will ever beat me. I've beaten you twice, I can beat you again. And trust me when I say, I've never been so confident in my entire life! You just wait-and-see, old friend. This, right here? THIS, is the start of the new era.
Brandon: Kuk, you should've given up a long time ago.
[The camera pans out. As the long, slow pan reaches halfway, Brandon disappears. The center light is still on. So many questions are left unanswered. I knew Arab? What does that mean? Does Brandon have something in store? Why is he all of a sudden gotten so sadistic? Is he over obsessing over the new championship? Is he trying to retire the "Hardcore Reject"? Or, is he just trying to get him out of his life?
All of this, and more, this Thursday. Tune in and to watch Army of One!]
