(Scene opens to Phillip Goodman's Berkeley condo. His girlfriend Candice has already gone to work. She left a lovely note wishing Phillip luck in his match against Nathan James and El Cunado. Phillip awakens from his sleep to see the note on the pillow next to him. He reads it with a smile. Phillip roles out of bed and begins his daily routine of four hundred crunches. He then does a brisk one thousand Hindu squats. Then finally after some P90X yoga Phillip takes a shower, as he gets out the water glistens on his tightly formed abs. Phillip gets dressed and goes to get some breakfast, he has some delicious blueberry pancakes and a tall glass of soy milk. Afterwords he reads the paper, mainly the comics)
Phillip: Oh Garfield, you really do hate Mondays...
(After Phillip places the paper in the recycle bin and begins packing for his trip. Phillip starts with his gear an then puts in his suit and followed by his pajamas and a few extra pair of underpants for caution. Phillip throws in some socks, but there is only one red sock. These are his Stanford socks, his lucky socks and he only has one of them. There are two opponents, but only one sock. He will need the luck of both socks to defeat both opponents)
Phillip: This is odd where can the sock be? This sock will be lonely without the other.
(Phillip begins his search, he looks in every drawer in his dresser. He checks under the bed and through out the covers. Phillip is now a bit flustered. He searches through the laundry and the living room, but he had no success. Phillip knows that he needs to calm down so he goes to the refrigerator for a bottle of green tea and there on the second shelf is the other sock. Its quite odd really. Phillip thinks of it as a good omen. He packs his lucky socks and heads to the airport.)
