The Quest for the Shiny Belts

[Emi Yamamoto]

[The scene opens with two petite girls hiding behind racks of clothing. They both have on rather large sunglasses hiding most of their faces. The smaller of the two suddenly elbows the slightly bigger one.]

Cami: OW! What the hell was that for?

[Emi shrugs.]

Emi: Just making sure you didn't fall asleep. Thought I heard you snoring...

[Cami frowns.]

Cami: You did not! Although you couldn't blame me if I was. This is completely boring! Sometimes I wonder why I go along with your schemes...

Emi: 'Cuz I'm cute and you love me. Now...look... I knew it would pay off...

[Emi points toward the door. In walks the members of AOA and Bliss. Cami notices that Bliss seems uncomfortable being seen with the group, and it's evident when Drake Hunter hangs back and kind of pulls her into the store.]

Cami: How did you know they were going to be here?

Emi: I have special powers remember? I simply reached into their minds and...

Cami: ...and you probably overheard Bliss talking on her phone earlier...

[Cami shook her head.]

Emi: You dare to question the great Emipon and her mystic powers of the mind?

[Cami rolls her eyes.]

Emi: Oh stop being such a sour puss...look...

[Emi points, Cami looks and Emi pushes her from behind the rack. Cami stumbles to her knees right in front of Bliss. Bliss looks angry at first but then grabs Cami by the arm and wrenches her to her feet.]

Bliss: You have three seconds to tell me what the hell you were doing before I start beating that pretty little face of yours...

[Cami looks back to Emi, she encourages her to speak.]

Cami: Well...

[Bliss raises an eyebrow still not impressed.]

Cami: Can you believe that it's part of a scavenger hunt to get something that belongs to you...

[Bliss looks amused.]

Bliss: Actually I do...

Cami: Can I have the your lipstick?

[Bliss laughs.]

Bliss: You are a child aren't you? The answer is no. Get out of my face...

[The men finally realize that Bliss isn't with them and retrace their steps, surrounding Cami who suddenly feels very small. That is until Kuk moves in beside her...throwing his arm around her shoulders.]

Kuk: Would it kill you to just be nice for once?

[Bliss sighs loudly and pulls a lip gloss from her pocket and slapping it into Kuk's open palm.]

Bliss: Just another thing to add the list Kuk...

[She walks away. Drake glares at Cami but doesn't speak and follows after her. Cable and Dixon look unsure.]

Cable: Guess we'll see you and your little sushi friend on Thursday...you know when we make sure that we retain our titles...

[Dixon chuckles. Suddenly Emi appears and pushes herself between Cami and Kuk to stand right in front of the two men, looking up at them with something akin to anger on her face.]

Emi: We are gonna beat your socks off!!

[Cable and Dixon both start laughing.]

Cable: Okay shrimp. Good luck...you're going to need it.

[They walk away, leaving the girls with Kuk. Kuk looks back to Cami with a smile on his face.]

Kuk: Are you okay Cami?

[Cami shrugs.]

Cami: Sure...not like she did anything truly mind blowing. Wow... Bliss threatened to beat my face in...should I be scared?

[Kuk smiled.]

Kuk: I think you can take her if you ever faced her...but I meant from the fall. I hesitated coming back because I didn't want to seem like I was saving you and making you look weak in front of her or the guys.

[Cami dusted off her knees, now noticing that her fall had left white marks on the black leotards. She straightened the skirt as well and then looked back at Kuk kind of blushing and sheepish.]

Cami: I'm super duper!

[She gave him a double thumbs up, He laughed and then another slow smile appeared on his face.]

Kuk: Good. What were you guys doing hiding behind those racks of clothes anyway?

Emi: Cami spoke the truth. We are in a race for the ultimate power!

[Kuk looks confused. Cami rolls her eyes, she then leans in to Kuk's ear so that her voice is only really heard by him.]

Cami [whispered]: A Nintendo 3DS for the team that finds the most items...

[Kuk laughs.]

Kuk: Well if you need any help, you know where to find me. Good luck with your hunt.

[Emi smiles as Kuk hugs each girl. He's part way down the aisle before turning partially.]

Kuk: And well...good luck on Thursday night. It's a bit of a conflict of interest with me though...

[He grimaces before disappearing around a corner. Cami turns back to Emi.]

Cami: So...lipstick of a whore... What's next?

[Emi pulls out a piece of paper with a list of items. Some of the items on the list have already been scribbled out.]

Emi: Okay...so now we have an old man's sock...we have a potato from the Middle East...we have a strand of hair from a superhero...oh, and did you get a pair of panties made specifically for pigs?

Cami: I sure did...

[Meanwhile in the apartment of Ms. Biguns...]

Ms. Biguns: WHAT HAPPENED TO MY FREAKING UNDERWEAR!!?

[Back to the two girls...]

Cami: And please don't ask me to do that again. I'm gonna be haunted by a few images for a very long time...



[Cami shudders and puts the underwear back in Emi's knapsack with one finger. She then fishes out a bottle of hand sanitizer and uses it generously.]

Emi: Okay, and now with this lipstick, that leaves us with...a burrito and a pair of shiny belts...

Cami: Alright then, let's just go down to a bistro and...

[Emi stops her.]

Emi: No no...where's the fun in that? Come on, let's go back to that flea market...

Cami: Are you crazy!? Remember what happened last time we were down there?

Emi: So we got into a fight. So what? I'm sure those bozos have already forgotten about us by now...

Cami: Somehow I doubt that...

[The next scene opens outside the flea market where a light blue scooter pulls in, just narrowly avoiding a crash into a wall. The two girls hop off the scooter and make their way into the market.]

Cami: Next time Emi, can we just get Kenny to drive us here? It'd be a lot safer that way...

Emi: What's wrong with my driving?

Cami: Well, we did almost crash like ten times back there...

Emi: No I didn't! I was just taking a shortcut...

[Cami rolls her eyes.]

Emi: There...look!

[Emi points to an open burrito, sitting on a small altar in the middle of the market. It is awfully quiet. Emi is about to grab it but Cami pulls her arm and stops her.]

Cami: Careful Emi, this could be a trap...

Emi: I know...pass me that little statue...

[Cami turns around and sees a small stone statue of Minnie Mouse. She hands it to Emi who carefully approaches the burrito. She is cautious in grabbing the burrito, but suddenly she manages to snatch it, leaving the statue in its place on top of the altar. Emi is about to celebrate.]

Emi: I got it! I...

[Suddenly the altar begins to sink into the ground. A loud alarm goes off and everything around them starts to rumble and shake. Emi rushes back towards Cami.]

Emi: RUN!!

[They begin running out of the market, trying their best not to fall. They are about to reach the scooter until two figures suddenly emerge around the corner and stops them.]

??: Not so fast Wonder Twins!!

[The girls freeze. They turn their heads and see a Latino man and a tattooed half-giant glaring at them.]

Latino: You little twerps are not going anywhere with the boss's magical burrito!!

Half-Giant: Yeah!!

[Cami face-palms.]

Cami: Emi... Of all the burritos we could have had...you had to get their boss's magic burrito?

[Emi shrugs and smiles innocently.]

Latino: You're gonna pay for this...

[Suddenly a blinding light stuns the Latino and the half-giant. They roar furiously until the light finally dims down. Before them now stood the two Steele boys, prepared for battle.]

Adam: No way Jose!!

Matt: Nobody touches the boobies!!

[Emi and Cami are delighted to see the young boys from their last adventure again. They hide behind them as they use their powers to summon a giant boulder and throw it at their adversaries. The Latino and the Half-Giant are chased out of sight by the large boulder. Adam and Matt then turn around.]

Matt: That should take care of them for now...

Adam: Yeah. But what are you two girls doing back out here anyway? You know how dangerous this place can be...

Cami: It's nice to see you again boys. We were on a scavenger hunt and Emi here decided to take it to the extreme...

[Emi again shrugs and smiles apologetically as Cami frowns at her.]

Adam: A scavenger hunt you say? What else is on your list then?

Cami: Well we have this burrito now. There's only one item on the list left...a pair of shiny belts.

[Emi pulls out a piece of paper with scribbling on it.]

Emi: Yeah, but not just any shiny belts. They're super special extra shiny belts for super champions! We have a map that leads to them right here!

Adam: You don't say...umm...may we see that please?

Emi: Alrighty!

[She hands Adam the map. He looks at it and shows it to Matt. They both look at each other and smile.]

Matt: Thanks booby lady!

Adam: Yeah. We'll be seeing you around...

[Suddenly another flash blinds the two girls, and when they regain their vision the boys have disappeared, and so has the map.]

Emi: What the!? Where's the map!?

Cami: What do you think? Those boys double-crossed us!!

Emi: NOOOOO!!!! What about my shiny!?

Cami: Calm down, we can still get our shiny belts. We just need another one of those maps...

Emi: Or...I have a better idea...



[The next scene finds Cami and Emi in a small helicopter in flight hovering over the city. They are both dressed up in skydiving suits. Cami is rather nervous.]

Cami: I was gonna say that we could have got a new map from the scavenger hunt organizers. This isn't exactly what I had in mind...

Emi: Oh come on Cami! This is serious! Remember, this is all for the Nintendo 3DS!!

Cami: Yeah about that, I don't really need...

[Cami is suddenly interrupted by the pilot.]

Pilot: You girls doing okay back there?

Emi: We're fine mister pilot man!

[Cami is about to resume until Emi looks down and spots something below.]

Emi: There! Look there they are! I told you we'd find those boys this way...

[Cami tries to look down but is afraid of the tall height.]

Cami: Alright. So how about we land this thing and chase after them?

Emi: Are you nuts? That'll take ages! Come on, let's parachute down!!

Cami: WHAT!? I don't...

Emi: Come on! Are you a Super Shiny Tiger Twin or not? After all, it's RTG week! We have to do something special and this is it! Are you ready...

Cami: Umm actually...

[Cami couldn't finish as Emi grabs a hold of her and they dive out of the helicopter together. They are both skydiving. While Emi is cheering all the way down, Cami is screaming. They pull open their parachutes finally just over a small field. They successfully land on the grass, just a two blocks away from the two boys. Cami is still shaking from the adrenaline as Emi already hops out of her suit and into another pair of underwear. She goes over to Cami who is lying on the grass.]

Emi: Wake up Cami! We've gotta get moving!

[Cami finally regains her composure and sits off, her hair is now a complete mess.]

Cami: Ugh...I'm so gonna get you back for this Emi...

[Emi pulls Cami back to her feet and pulls her out of her suit. Cami is embarrassed as Emi accidentally pulls down her tights along with it. Cami blushes and pulls the tights back on before they finally start following the two boys. They run around the corner of the street and spot them. They watch from a distance as the two boys sneak into an abandoned shed in somebody's back garden. The girls follow them in.]

Emi: Those belts must be in here. Come on Cami!

[Cami is still annoyed with her.]

Cami: Fine. But next time I'll decide our next adventure...

Emi: Deal. Now come on!

[They step into the shed but are suddenly swept off their feet as they stumble and slide down a hidden chute. They reach the bottom and find themselves inside some kind of secret ancient cavern.]

Cami: Whoa. This is pretty spooky...

[Emi suddenly jumps in fright, making Cami jump in response.]

Emi: AAAHH!!

Cami: What is it?

Emi: Stupid nasty icky yucky smelly ugly spider! I hate you!!

[Emi hugs Cami and sheds a small tear. Cami pats her on the back and tries to comfort her. Little does Emi realize is that Cami has now spotted a weak spot in her partner...]

Cami: Don't worry. Let's just find our shinies and get out of here as quickly as possible.

[Emi wipes a tear from her eye and nods. She finally regains her composure and the two begin sneaking through the cavern. It is strangely light inside, not very dark considering the lack of sunlight. After a few minutes of wandering they finally stumble upon a large open space in the cavern, lit up under a flowing waterfall and a glimmer of sunlight from a crack in the wall. Emi and Cami hide behind some nearby rocks, but while there they find the two boys hiding next to them. They quietly begin arguing.]

Matt: What? How did you find us!?

Emi: Thought you'd run away with our shinies did you?

Adam: Hey, calm down now. All's fair in love and war right?

Cami: You could have asked to just join us you know, you didn't have to steal our map...

Adam: Hey, we saved your lives just now...

Emi: Yeah? You would have been slaves to Whitey last week if it wasn't for us! And to think I trusted you...

Matt: Is the booby lady mad?

[Suddenly they are interrupted by voices from a distance. All four grow silent and peek over the rocks to find out what's going on. There they see a four hooded figures standing in a circle around an altar. One of them is taller than the others while one of them has a notoriously long beard. In the middle, the leader of the four, finishes speaking.]

??: Our quest is nearly complete. I shall retrieve the biggest belt in the land, and we shall be in total control. Our time has come.

[He then leaves, alongside the scruffiest of the four. Two hooded figures are left behind to guard the altar. They finally catch a glimpse of what rested on the altar. It was a pair of gold shiny belts, just as described on their list.]

Emi: Oooooooooohh soooooo shiny!!!

[Emi falls into a trance and climbs over the rocks, much to Cami's distress. Emi walks into the open and is immediately spotted by the two hooded men.]

??: Halt! Who dares enter our Cavern of Arrogance?

[Cami finally musters the courage to defend her friend. She rushes out and stops her from moving any closer.]

Cami: We have come for those belts!!

[The two men laugh.]

??: Don't be foolish! Many have tried to take our belts and maybe have failed. What makes you think you two have what it takes?

Cami: We are the Super Shiny Tiger Twins!! No one has been able to stop us so far, and we don't intend to let a bunch of bozos like you stop us now!!

??: We shall see...

[Suddenly the two Steele boys step out of hiding and issue their own challenge.]

Adam: If anyone's getting those belts around here, it's gonna be us!!

Matt: That's right!!

Cami: Hey boys, the adults are talking here. Don't you have school or something?

[Then suddenly another two individuals appear out of nowhere.]

Latino: You haven't forgotten about us have you? The boss says he wants those belts, and we're not going to fail him again!

Half-Giant: Yeah!!

[Adam looks confused.]

Adam: Umm...how did you outrun our giant boulder?

[They shrug.]

Latino: Actually I don't think we...

[The Latino and the Half-Giant suddenly hear a loud rumbling behind them. They turn around and scream as they are squashed by the same boulder from earlier. Everyone is confused.]

Cami: Is that even possible?

[Emi shrugs. The Steele boys turn toward the group again, mildly amused.]

Adam: Two down...

Matt: Six to go!

[The boys start to move toward the altar and the hooded figures all surround the boys and start to beat on each other.]

Emi: Look there's our chance...

[The two girls start to move toward the belts. Cami reaches out and her fingers and graze the metal but Emi pulls her back before a stray bolt of lightning almost hits her. Emi points up to the cavern's ceiling where a device sits that moves on motion. Cami nods. Cami grabs Emi's hand.]

Cami & Emi: Super Shiny Tiger Twin Powers Activate!!!

[Both girls suddenly develop a shell made of metal. The blasts bounce off them and hit the walls.]

Emi: I'm shiny...

[Cami rolls her eyes and pulls Emi towards the altar with the belts.]

Cami: Come on!

[Cami grabs one and Emi goes to grab one when Matt pulls himself up from behind the altar. He shakes off his grogginess and grabs the belt at the same time and the two start pulling it back and forth.]

Matt: It's mine!

Emi: No! My Shiny, Shiny!!

[Adam and the others are now all rushing over to try and grab at the remaining belt. One of the bolts hits a fissure in the cavern's ceiling and the whole place fills with an unmistakable rumble.]

Cami: The place is going to cave in. We gotta get out of here!

[The hooded figures disperse in all directions. Emi is still fascinated with the belt and Cami has to practically drag her toward where she thinks she sees daylight. They make it out just in time for a loud rumble and crash. The force causes both Cami and Emi to be propelled from the entrance on to the ground... Thankfully they both still have their metal shells. Cami touches her charm and returns to normal. Not long after Emi relents and does the same.]

Cami: We only got one belt...

[Cami frowns and Emi shakes her head, holding up the other belt. Cami is able to get a better look at it. The buckle is a tiger head, decorated with gemstones. She smiles.]

Adam & Matt: Not so fast there booby twins!!

[The girls look and on top of the cavern entrance are the two boys. They are both dirty and look worse for wear but they have no trouble jumping down and coming right up to them. Adam tries to reach for one of the belts.]

Adam: Give us those. We worked hard to earn them.

Matt: Yeah don't make us get mean on you.

[Cami rolls her eyes. She throws the belt she had over to them. Adam picks it up, smiling before he notices the buckle...he then makes a disgusted face and throws it back.]



Adam: Those are girls belts! They won't work for us.

Emi: That's right. Their all ours. We're unstoppable!!

[The boys look disappointed and start to walk away when Cami runs up and taps Matt on the shoulder.]

Cami: No hard feelings boys. I hope that we can come to rely on each other in tough times.

[Adam shrugs.]

Adam: I can't make any promises. As long as we're both fighting the same enemy sure, but get in our way and we will stop at nothing to get what we want!

Matt: Yeah!!

Cami: Fine.

[The boys suddenly disappear with a 'pop' sound.]

Emi: Oh well. Let's go and get our 3DS's!!

[She's giddy and Cami sighs before putting an arm around her shoulders and walking toward the street.]



[There is a knock on the door. Cami gets up from the sofa to answer it. It's a courier guy. She signs and is handed a box, bringing it in she puts it on the kitchen table.]

Emi: Is it here?

[She runs in from her bedroom, jumping up and down and clapping her hands. Cami shakes her head with a smile as she opens the box with a pair of scissors and pulls out one of two smaller boxes inside. She hands it to Emi whose face lights up.]

Emi: It's so shiny!!

[She's mesmerized by the pink 3DS box in her hands. Cami pulls out the other and sees that hers is purple. At first she didn't care about the electronic game but now that she had it, she had a little bit of pride that they were the only team to complete the whole list.]

Cami: Well...are you happy now?

[Emi nods ecstatically.]

Emi: Plus we got those really nifty belts too. Wonder if they have any powers like the charms. I mean...tigers...must have been meant for us!

Cami: Right...

Emi: Don't be so skeptical!

Cami: Well right now, I'm more concerned with our match on Thursday. Those are the belts that I really want to take home.

Emi: And we will. Those shiny belts are coming home. We are unparalleled. We are great. We are...

Cami: The Super Shiny Tiger Twins. How could I forget?

Emi: I was actually going to say that we are without any games for our new toys. We should really go shopping...

[Emi pulls Cami toward the door. Cami groans.]

Emi: Another adventure awaits!

Cami: What did I ever do to you!?

[scene fades out as the door closes.]
