003: Ready For Anything

Moments after the conclusion of the huge debut main event for AJ Stark where he was out numbered and viciously attacked we are in the medical trainers office and AJ is sitting on the table holding an ice pack to his neck and he is gritting his teeth in anger from what had happened. The trainer leaves the room and a few moments pass as Madd Katt comes waltzing in seemingly in a good mood smiling. AJ just takes one look at him and you can feel a high tension in the air as AJ stands up and he just seems to lose it as he throws the ice pack against the wall and starts spouting off at the mouth.

AJ Stark: I get jumped by six bitches and you walk in here smiling?! I had Bliss beat and whether she admits it or not, she damn well knows it, I got screwed MK!

Madd Katt holds up his hands as if trying to plea his innocents for something AJ feels he was wronged for.

Madd Katt: Calm down killer, you accomplished a big part of what needs to happen here, you have the Age of Arrogance scared, just like you said whether they admit it or not. You of all people know what fear looks like, smells like, tastes like. Think about it, I mean really think about it, would they have really come down to the ring with their whole power in numbers excuse unless they know you are definitely the man they have to watch out for?

AJ still gritting his teeth stands there putting his hands on his waist obviously trying to hear Madd Katt out.

Madd Katt: AJ, buddy, they know your power, they witnessed first-hand and before the first showing of real power, real talent was over, they had to run in with everything they had. You have them scared and with good reason, there has never been a force in MPW quite like yourself. You got to them physically and mentally to the point where they felt they needed to try and take you out, but yet here you stand, and next week will be no different my friend, no different at all, I promise you.

AJ takes a deep breath and he lowers his head and then he hears the rest of Madd Katt’s last sentence.

AJ Stark: Next week?

Madd Katt: You get a chance for pay back, this time you’ll be able to get your hands on not only Bliss for trying to stand her ground against MPW’s newest star, but you get a chance to show the world what a real world champion would really look like as she’s paired with Drake Hunter, whom is still fresh off a victory against Ash.

AJ Stark: What’s the catch, I’m guessing I don’t get to drag these two around the ring by myself as much as I would love the opportunity to.

Madd Katt: Well you do have a partner for the match, and she is quite the star herself, you’ll be teaming with MPW’s new Sin City Champion, Roxi Johnson.

AJ Stark: I see….

AJ turns around and he begins unwrapping the tape from his hands and he shakes his head, a motion which Madd Katt sees.

Madd Katt: What’s wrong? Roxi is a damn good person to be paired with.

AJ Stark: She’s also a little bit crazy thinking she’s part of a comic book.

Madd Katt: As I seem to remember, didn’t you claim you were the hero that MPW needs?

AJ Stark: That’s because I’m not a real hero a fact Bliss seems to not understand, and maybe you don’t either, so let me put it to you like this and Roxi for something you both can understand. In the comics there’s an arch called Heroes for Hire. In this comic would be heroes Iron Fist and Luke Cage go around saving people for a profit, though it doesn’t always work out that way. Similarities, you got me hired here for the specific task of taking on and destroying the Age of Arrogance, not something I would normally do because; one, I could’ve cared less about what they do up until tonight when they felt the need to attack me because their mystic they use to defeat their opponents would have been gone, and two, though they themselves are hypocrites, they are right, MPW only hires marketable people, AoA is one of the largest marketable factions they have and sure, they have some talent, but nowhere near what I have, and that’s why it took six people to finally put me down.

Madd Katt: So you’re not in this whole hearted?

AJ Stark: I’m in it for the opportunity to show that there is no one better in this business than myself, and AoA went and made it personal, so am I in it whole heartedly? No, I’m in it with every single ounce of rage, anger, and ferocity that I have and that is more than enough to take down a bunch of blow hearts whom seem to think that they are all under rated and underappreciated because they don’t get what they want when they want it. Bliss and Hunter Thursday night, they are going to see who is really supreme, to the point where if Ash is back here in time to get his rematch against Hunter, than they will have no choice but to put me up against the moron, to which I will happily accept and then religiously prepare for the destruction of Drake Hunter and his Age of Arrogance!

Madd Katt: Well you sound pretty confident there.

AJ Stark: Oh I am, because it isn’t a matter of opinion, it’s a fact and I have no problem proving it each and every night, ending with Drake Hunter either tapping out or passing out.

Madd Katt: Good, good, then I guess no matter what you’re prepared and focused for Take Down.

AJ Stark: No, I’m focused on destroying AoA, not just next Thursday, but for the rest of their now short and miserable careers.

Madd Katt nods and smiles as he turns and he begins to head towards the door but he stops and looks over his shoulder and speaks.

Madd Katt: Oh by the way, I’m sure Roxi will be more than happy to have you in her corner come Thursday, so try and play nice, though from what Lucas told me, that’s not really your style is it?

AJ just smirks and he looks in the mirror and he rolls his shoulders.

AJ Stark: Oh one more thing….

Madd Katt: Jack Dogwin, I know, I’m looking into it, trying to figure it out and who the hell let him in to the building, but I don’t think he is with the Age of Arrogance.

AJ Stark: Fine, just find out quick because I will destroy him too, and that I’ll do because I truly want to, he wanted to make an impact, but the only impact he’s going to make now is on the canvas when I take him down for the count.

Madd Katt nods and he continues on his way out of the room where AJ finishes unwrapping his tape and gets ready to head back to the locker room where he’ll change and immediately head out towards the next location for Take Down in the Mississippi Coast Coliseum, in Jackson Mississippi. It’s obvious now that this was just business for AJ, but now AoA had gone and made this personal, and that might have been a huge mistake.

We come back and AJ has obviously made it to the city where Take Down would be located this week as he is sitting down and eating some sushi for a high carb and high protein meal. He’s seems to be enjoying this meal in his solitude while he wears a nice white button up shirt and a pair of nice jeans. He takes another piece in his mouth when a young boy and a gentleman, probably his father come before him.

Boy’s Father: Excuse me, I’m sorry to bother you, but you’re AJ Stark right? The MPW Star who debuted last Thursday and took on Bliss right?

AJ looks and investigates quickly, obviously these two are wrestling fans, but were they going to harass him or simply ask for an autograph?

AJ Stark: I am, and I did, and I would have won if it wasn’t for the so called “small” amount of interference as Bliss liked to put it.

Boy’s Father: I have to admit, it definitely looks like you have them definitely running scared, but why we came over here, well my boy here would like an autograph, he says that you really are a hero whether you are doing it because you want to, or not.

AJ Stark: Not a problem, and no I wasn’t doing this because I wanted to before, but AoA made the mistake of making it personal for me instead of settling it fairly in the ring, people like them make it look like there’s no honor in professional wrestling anymore, having to cheat to win, but that’s alright, I get another shot at them Thursday night on Take Down when I team with Roxi Johnson.

AJ pulls out a pen and he clicks it open and the boy hands AJ a small little autograph book to which he flips through and sees a few different iconic signatures in film and sports a like. He happily smiles and signs his name and then hands the book back.

AJ Stark: There you go kid, and hold on to that, might be worth a lot someday very soon.

Boy’s Father: We both believe that Mr. Stark, thank you.

AJ Stark: No Problem, just be sure to tune into Take Down this Thursday to watch me give Age of Arrogance their just desserts for trying to take me out before all this even really got started.

Boy’s Father: We will, and be sure to show them they made a big mistake!

AJ nods and the boy and his father walk away leaving AJ by himself to eat and think about his match this Thursday when yet another person comes walking up, when AJ looks up expecting it to be more fans, he’s sort of right when he sees that it’s the girl he met at the coffee shop almost two weeks ago.

AJ Stark: Tricia, what are you doing here in Jackson?

Tricia: Well, your business manager said you’ve been looking for me, he actually flew out and tracked down the coffee shop and waited for me to come, thanks for returning my book by the way.

AJ Stark: No problem, it really was a pleasure.

Tricia: Mind if I join you yet again, seems like there aren’t really that many tables in here.

AJ looks around and smiles seeing a few open tables but holds out his hand towards the empty seat across from him and she smiles taking the seat wearing a lovely black dress and crossing her legs.

Tricia: So I got to watch Take Down with my roommate, are you okay?

AJ Stark: Yeah, would have been tons better if I won, but I guess The Age of Arrogance and Jack Dogwin had other plans that night, like trying to make it so I didn’t survive night one.

Tricia: Well you look like you’re physically healthy, so I guess they failed.

AJ Stark: They epically failed, but hey where they fail, I succeed, not only did they show their fear in trying to get rid of me, but they also showed exactly how much they’re worried which only works against them tomorrow night when I take on Bliss again, this time with Drake Hunter in her corner.

Tricia: You know I’ve become quite the wrestling fan since our meeting, so I know you’ll also be teaming with Roxi Johnson, someone whom just recently beat Bliss, personally I think you guys have this one in the bag, your manager thinks so too, he even gave me a ticket to the show and put me up in a hotel.

AJ Stark: Did he now? And did he happen to say why?

Tricia: He said you were looking for me relentlessly, so now he figures that if you have something to look forward to, like maybe us talking about Edgar Allan Poe, you might do better, sort of a reward system.

AJ Stark: I have to say this new reward system might just work out, I could use some intellectual company considering I have to deal with low lives like the Age of Arrogance week in and week out, so after I put them in their place Thursday night, what would you like to do Tricia.

Tricia: Well besides celebrate your victory, how about we grab a drink somewhere nice, and sit down and talk, talk about you, talk about me, and maybe see where that leads us and if we have anything else in common besides authors, what do you think?

AJ Stark: I’m game if you are, and you know I feel like I just got a little more motivation for tearing down the AoA and obviously bring honor back to MPW and wrestling in general.

Tricia smiles as the waiter brings her a glass of water and a menu to look at. AJ leans forward on the table smiling and holding a conversation with Tricia. AJ seems to be more than motivated to take on Bliss and Drake Hunter Thursday night and really show them the ferocity of The Behemoth of MPW.

We come into focus in an interview area where we see Jay Wyatt standing by wearing a suit and he’s holding a microphone with a full camera crew when AJ Stark wearing an MPW shirt with the sleeves cut off and a pair of wind breaker pants on comes walking up, putting his hands to his waist and then Jay nods to the cameras.

Jay Wyatt: Hello one and all, I am Jay Wyatt here to conduct an interview with AJ Stark for MPW.com, AJ thank you for sparring some time to talk with us about the recent actions of the super group known as Age of Arrogance and your match with two of their members tomorrow night on Take Down.

AJ Stark: Not a problem, just let’s make this quick I have a few work outs to finish out before I get in the ring tomorrow night.

Jay Wyatt: Not a problem, first AJ allow me to congratulate you on what some would argue is a very impressive debut match against the former Sin City Champion Bliss, now obviously you lost to what many would claim was outside interference by The Age of Arrogance and Jack Dogwin, how does this affect your mind set heading into Take Down tomorrow?

AJ Stark: Simple, now I’m prepared for some dishonorable attempts at once again trying to take me down before I can reveal AoA for what they really are, a bunch of hypocritical cowards, Bliss can sit there all she wants and say she didn’t need the help, but the fact is, if it wasn’t for her stable mates and Jack Dogwin we would have had a very different outcome that would have left her laid out in the ring.

Jay Wyatt: A lot of fans seem to agree with you, as we have been hearing the rants and raves in chat rooms and some emails even saying that you were robbed.

AJ Stark: While I’m thankful for the support from the fans, you can’t change the past, and it really doesn’t matter, because I’m doing the one thing AoA showed they didn’t want. I am still standing and this time I’m ready for them, Jack Dogwin, The Easter Bunny, and anyone else they try to dig up to try and take me out, but they need to know it will fail as I’m sure Bliss is secretly shaking in her boots as she obviously won’t admit the fear.

Jay Wyatt: Well, I’d have to say those are pretty hefty odds that you’re looking at, however, we already know how you fair against Bliss and with Roxi Johnson we know the odds are a bit more even than last time, but what are your thoughts on climbing into the ring with a man whom people are saying arguably doesn’t deserve to be World Heavyweight Champion, Drake Hunter.

AJ smiles and he runs a hand through his hair before replacing them on his waist.

AJ Stark: Drake Hunter, the new MPW World Champion, first let me congratulate you on defeating Ash for the strap, even if you did have the help of his former buddy Trey Baxter, you did get him one, two, three, but that’s where your luck ends, do I care if you deserve to be champion? No, are you? Yes, but that isn’t enough to overcome me, it’s not enough to intimidate me, and I’m sure your little merry band of misfits figured that out when they realized what you guys did on the 14th wasn’t enough to take me out. Hunter, you step into the ring this week with a monster, a man forsaken, because I will stop at nothing until I have the blood of every AoA member on my hands, and if I start with yours that’s more than acceptable in my eyes, trust me, I have plenty to gain from draining each and every pint of blood from you so called underestimated superstars. Please you and Bliss are two of the top marketable superstars here in MPW and you complain about not being appreciated for your talent?

AJ shakes his head and then points at the camera.

AJ Stark: You have less talent than me, you are more marketable than me, and that’s why you’re in this position of power, you and Bliss can sit there and make hero jokes, make references to Robin Hood and Little John, hell you can sit there and claim you’re the three little pigs and I’m the big bad wolf, but the facts are the facts, I’m the good guy in this and the fans know it, I don’t have to pander to you and your little group, I don’t have to play nice, all I have to do is be me, and if being me means making you bleed all over the ring, then I am more than willing to do that. You’re in over your head, especially now since you went and showed your hand Drake, you and your miscreants are afraid, you proved that, you proved not a one of you can take me on straight on with no interference, so I’m ready for that this time, I’m ready for anything, and this time either you or Bliss will tap out or pass out, because no one escapes the clutch of the beast!

AJ grits his teeth together and lets out a slight growl to which he then makes his way off the set leaving Jay Wyatt a little intimidated and worried for the safety of anyone whom may have to climb into the ring with AJ. Jay gives a sign off and the camera crew cuts the feed but all stay where they were as they all look off in the direction AJ went and begin to wonder if this man is really what MPW has been waiting for to free them from the tyranny of Age of Arrogance.
