I said before that a hero's work was never done, and I was right.
I don't know if Sydney is really over everything that happened with Haven, and I feel responsible for it. I never considered myself the leader of our little duo, but the fact is Z was my responsibility. And now, I don't know if she's truly ever going to be the same. I know she wanted to save everybody, I did too. But that game was un-winnable. I think she knows that, but she doesn't want to grip with the reality of the evil that lays in the heart of people like Haven.
Hell, I don't think I'm really over simply...walking away as someone died. A person who I could have saved, and I just...failed. But, if there was something to take away from that, it was that we got out with our lives, and sooner or later, Haven will be brought to justice. She murdered an entire town of innocent people. She deserves so much more than a prison cell. I think that's what Z is really upset. I think she's fighting with the same thing I am: Are we going to have to go to that level with her?
Speaking of that level, Hello Kahlan. In listening to you this week, with another tirade of babble, I noticed something different. Something has changed.
When did the supposed "goddess" of MPW become such a whiny little girl? When did the almighty Bliss become such a sore loser? I mean, really all I got from you was simply "I want my rematch". You know, you already got it. You and will face off in a cage. I get it, Kahlan, you want a rematch, you're entitled to a rematch. Rematch is, rematch that. Guess what, when I lost the TV title, you didn't see me whining and complaining about a rematch did you? Give it a rest. You get your rematch, and when we're in that cage, when the bell sounds, then you're rematch will be underway. Okay? Can you lay off the caffeine for two seconds?
But I can see why you're angry. If I threw everything I had against my opponent and they still won the match, if I tried as hard as I could and beat my opponent and hard as I could, and it still didn't work? I'd be upset too. Upset that knowing that my best was not enough. I took everything you dished out Kahlan, and in the end, I still won the match. I still choked you out. The beast was unleashed, and it wasn't enough. As I said before Kahlan, in front of thousands of people...Is that all you got? Is it the best you can do? Hospitalizing me must have been really fun for you. But, it doesn't take away from me beating you right in the middle of the ring. That's what really bothers you. It why you're pissing and moaning and giving me tired threats about what you're going to do to me inside of that steel cage.
I want you to understand that a cage match doesn't scare me. YOU don't scare me. Nothing you say or do will scare me into thinking this cage match will be the end. You don't have any other advantages to speak of. What, the woman I choked into unconciousness is now all of a sudden some kind of unbeatable monster? Is the woman I stuck with thumbtacks, the woman who drove me through a table, and glass, and beat me over the head with a chair, but couldn't put me down... is now suddenly better than me? I really find that hard to believe, because you haven't changed THAT much. You may be openly dating Drake now, you may have turned completely to the wrong side, but you're still Bliss. And while you may be good...
I am better.
Because I have to be better than you Kahlan. I need to be better than you every single time we face off. Because whether you like it or not, you're not the one wearing the world title right now. Your boyfriend is. And I know you two would like this fairytale ending where you and Drake and the rest of your weak crew hold titles, it's not going to happen. Because I will not allow it to happen. And you seem to think that because you're getting a rematch, that you have some sort of leg up in this match. That you are the only one who has something to fight for.
You don't seem to understand how war works.
I am at WAR with the AOA. All 5 of you. And I'm not going away any time soon. This ridiculous monopoly will crumble at my hands. I don't really care if I have to go it alone against all 5 of you. It doesn't really mean anything to me. The odds aren't in my favor, but then again, when have they been? They were against me when I wasn't supposed to beat TJ Pain and Taufik for the TV title. But I did. I wasn't supposed to beat Tristan Slater. But I did. And then, I wasn't supposed to beat you Kahlan. You were going to unleash this beast and rip my head off. You were supposed to crush me under your thumb. But you didn't, did you? Because I HAD to win. So no, the odds don't mean anything to me. If I stand alone, then I stand alone. I'm not asking anyone, including AJ, to stand beside me and fight. If you want to get my back, then I'll get yours. I'm not enlisting anyone. I'll simply say this: When it comes to stopping the AOA, you have three choices: Lead, Follow, or Get out of the way.
AJ, if you stand with me, I stand with you. I trust you have a little payback on your mind, so we can go there, and get the job done. If you wish to continue afterwards, that's fine. But this war has just begun.
I'm not really worried about Chris or Andre, or even Kuk right now. I am only concerned with Drake, and his ladyfriend. The only way to do this, is to cut the snake's head off, and clearly, there's two heads to this snake. This war will rage on for a long time if something is not done. The first order of business, is to beat Drake and Bliss this Thursday, then Bliss and I will tangle in the cage. Oh yes, then when she loses that, she go cry about whatever else makes her swear and get angry and babble on about sharks and whatever else was in there.
But I'm getting ahead of myself, This tag match is important, not for me or AJ as much as it is for Drake and Bliss. You had a really fun time last week and now, you get a real test. You get me and AJ. Now, I guess Stella over there has her groove back after I choked it out of her, because she's calling us trash. She's telling the world that now that Drake is carrying her around, she's a world beater. She can do anything. It's really cute. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad.
Here's a woman who was so strong, so independent, so take-charge and headstrong, reduced to a douchbag's play toy. For what reason, I don't know. I actually kinda miss the Bliss who could stand on her own and fight me on her own and make her own choices, and not sound like she's reading off cue cards. The AOA is so great, they're so strong, no one can beat us. I'm guessing that's what you said, because all I really heard was "blah blah blah, I'm a dirty tramp." You get your appitizer on TNT Bliss, lucky for you. Because you know deep down inside you can handle the main course. You know that you threw the kitchen sink at me at Road 2 Glory and you still came up short.
But you know who didn't come up short? Drake Hunter. I can see the attraction now. I see that Drake has the ability to at least somewhat back up what he says, while you don't. So you need someone like him to boost your credibility. I get it. Funny, I would think there's more to it than that, but whatever works for you I guess.
Anyway, Congratulations Drake. I know you probably weren't expecting to hear it from someone who despises you, but I can call a spade a spade. You are the world champion, and that's all well and good, and that's where the pleasantries are going to stop. I made it widely know that I do not like you, in fact, I hate you. Because it's people like you, the power hungry, the self-absorbed, the jack-off haircutted people of the world that just make it so intolerable here. So, this is where I come in. This is why we are at war. The AOA vs. Me, and whoever else wants to join the fight. You as the figurehead, make the target, which I am aiming to destroy.
That puts us at an impasse. You want this silly little group to continue, and I do not. One of us has to give Drake. And time will tell which one it will be. You want to know what's funny Drake? You said that my time is running out. That apparently you have everything mapped down to the very second. Well, I've been on borrowed time for a long time now. One can't run forever. I'm aware of this. But do you know who's also on borrowed time?
You.
You are the world champion Drake. You are the hunted right now. You are the person on top of the mountain, and everyone wants to knock the king off the top of the hill. You are more marked than I'll ever be. And of course, this is the part where you say you're ready for it, and you'll take on all comers and all that jazz. Wonderful, but I don't think even you realize that you are being targeted from all sides. There's me, there's AJ, there's Trey, there's Johnny, there's Bliss. People want your head on a stick. Or, maybe that's just me. But I realize that a big bulls eye is painted on my back, but yours is larger. And not even the AOA can save you forever. Sooner or later, you're going to lose that title, someone will take it from you. Maybe me, maybe Trey, maybe Ash. But the fact remains that everyone is gunning for that title.
Which, as funny as it sounds, is really what this is all about. You can play it cool all you like Drake, the fact is, this war, will end in time. But the only acceptable ending to this war is I take all of you down. You will not break me Drake. You will not stop me. You will not be able to keep me back forever. Sooner or later, I will end the AOA. Even if I have to do it all by myself.
So I want you to cherish that title, I know it makes you feel untouchable, I know you are king of the world right now. But I am coming for you. Many are coming for you. And it's going to take more than what you have right now, to hold us off. You know that Drake. Do you really believe that Andre or Kuk or Chris stand a chance? Your girl tried and she failed. And she's been coming to you looking for an answer. She had to go back to you with nothing to show for her efforts. Understand Drake, that I'm not going to stop until you and the AOA no longer exist. You may beat me down, you may get one over on me, but that will only add fuel to my fire. It's only going to make me stronger, only going to make me more determined to see you off the top of the mountain.
There's an old phrase that says in latin "Si vis pacem, para bellum" If you want peace, prepare for war. I am prepared to fight this war to the end of everything. Nothing is going to stop me from taking the AOA out permanently. I am prepared to give everything to make sure that this stops now, and stops forever. The question is, are you, Drake?
Are you willing to see your people sacrificed? Are you ready to have your people's injuries put on your conscience. Are you ready to look your people in the eye when you know your world is crumbling around you? It's going to happen Drake. If I break Chris, will you get angry? WHEN I hurt Kahlan, are you going to do what you need to, to win?
I'll tell you, what you're going to have to do Drake...You will have to make sure I'm not breathing anymore in order to fully stop me. Are you willing to do that, Drake? Because at this point, I am POSITIVE I'm willing to do it to you. As a matter of fact, like Bliss, you get a taste of what I'm bringing to your doorstep. I am going to launch my own strike at the AOA. This is what happens when regimes like your arise. And eventually, they all fall. I plan on starting your fall a little early, like on TNT.
Oh, and I'm the Sin City Champion. Suck it, Bliss.
[ Roxi is patrolling the rooftops high over head, waiting for something to happen. ]
Geez...I really wish something would happen.
[ I told you. ]
Get on with it.
[ Ahem. Right. Finally, a man can be heard screaming. ]
Man - HELP ME!
Yeah, that'll work.
[ Roxi swings off in the direction of the screams. Finally, she locates the man as he runs for his life. She drops down in front of him. ]
Man - Oh, oh thank you. You have to help me.
Roxi - Okay, what...seems to be the problem?
Man - There's some guys after me.
Roxi - Who?
Man - Drug dealers. I think they think I have their money. I don't. I only was a courier. I swear.
Roxi - Couriers can go bad things now and again.
Man - I'm just an honest guy. I didn't do anything wrong. You gotta get me outta here.
[ Roxi continues to look around, not really seeing anyone. ]
Roxi - Okay, where are they?
Man - I... I don't know...maybe I lost them.
Roxi - Okay, look, I'm going to get you to safety, I'll drop you at the police station so you can make a report.
Man - No!
Roxi - No?
Man - I mean...they know what I look like, they'll kill me for sure then, if they know I talked to the cops.
Roxi - They can put you in Witness protection if that's the case.
Man - No, please, just...get me home...I swear, I'll be good from now on.
Roxi - *sigh* Fine.
Man - Ah, thank you so much.
Roxi - Yeah, whatever. Hang on. And if you touch anything your not supposed to, I'll break your arm.
Man - Yes, ma'am.
[ The guy grabs on and they swing off ]
[ Later, Roxi returns home and find Sydney is bad mood. ]
Roxi - Hey. You doing okay?
Sydney - I'm fine.
Roxi - That good, huh?
Sydney - Just drop it.
Roxi - Okay, I will.
Sydney - So...how was it out there?
Roxi - Slow. Boring for a change.
Sydney - I don't know if I'm ready yet, Rox. Honestly, I'm finding this recoup time to be very productive.
Roxi - Well, that's one good thing.
Sydney - Yeah, I got into this thing, and I think you should check it out.
Roxi - What is it?
Sydney - Chat Routtle.
Roxi - What is it?
Sydney - It's this online video chat where they can pair you up with another person. And you chat. sometimes, you might even meet a celebrity.
Roxi - Really?
Sydney - Yeah, go look.
Roxi - Okay, I will.
[ Roxi goes to change. About ten minutes pass...Roxi comes storming out of the bedroom with a scowl on her face. ]
Sydney - Are you okay?
Roxi - That was wrong.
Sydney - What's the problem?
Roxi - Why didn't you tell me the 90% of chat roulette was penises?
Sydney - I thought it would help.
Roxi - You are an awful person and you know it.
Sydney - Come on, Rox, you need to get some anyway.
Roxi - That's not your business, Sydney.
Sydney - It's the truth.
Roxi - So, you're suggesting what? that I chat with an exposed penis and get to know it better?
Sydney - Maybe.
Roxi - I hate you so much right now.
Sydney - Look, just give it another shot.
Roxi - No, I think 10 minutes was enough.
Sydney - Then try some online speed dating or something.
Roxi - Are you so lazy that you're trying to set me up with a date using the internet in place of someone you actually know?
Sydney - Maybe.
[ Roxi finally gets on a video web dating service. As luck would have it, she ends up chatting with...the guy from earlier that she took to his house? ]
Roxi - What...?
Man - Uh, hello to you too.
Oh crap. Can't let this guy find out who I am.
Roxi - Uh...sorry. You just look really familiar to me.
Man - Really?
Roxi - Yeah, probably just a coincidence. though.
Man - Yeah. I get that a lot.
Roxi - You do?
Man - Well, kinda. People mistake me for other people a lot.
Roxi - Oh.
Man - Wait...wait.., you're Roxi Johnson.
Roxi - Yeah, how are you?
Man - I'm great. Wait, do you live around here?
Roxi - Trade secret.
Man - You are really funny. ..Hey, I'm Ted by the way. Ted Sullivan. Most people just call me Teddy though.
Roxi - I see.
Ted - So, uh...this your first time.
Roxi - Yeah, my friend wanted me to try it, so...Here I am.
Ted - Well, friends do this kind of stuff to people, sometimes I wonder if I ever need enemies.
Roxi - Yeah, tell me about it.
Ted - So...what do you like to do...you know, when your not wrestling?
Roxi - Oh, lots of stuff. I like to read, I like to skydive, and base jump, and spelunk...
Ted - WHAT?
Roxi - Just a joke.
Ted - Oh...
Roxi - So..what do you like to do?
[ Fade on Roxi beginning to enjoy the chat. ]
[ Roxi walks back outside with a bit of a smile on her face. ]
Sydney - So, how did it go?
Roxi - I think we just went on a date.
Sydney - Yeah, that happens some times.
Roxi - We talked forever. He seemed like a legit nice guy.
Sydney - See, I told you. Feel free to thank me later.
Roxi - I guess I should.
Sydney - What's he like?
Roxi - He's smart, and funny, and kind, and warm hearted, and he's got a great family.
Sydney - Well, I suppose that's a step up from murders, psychopaths, cannibals, and monsters.
Roxi - Yes. Yes it is. Weird thing though, I'm almost positive I saved this guy's life tonight.
Sydney - Really?
Roxi - Yeah, I could have sworn it was the same guy. It was odd, it's like he was being chased, but no one was around, no gunshots were fired, nothing...
Sydney - Maybe he escaped from somewhere.
Roxi - You think? But it's like he was two different people.
Sydney - Wait, he doesn't know who you are right?
Roxi - No.
Sydney - Maybe he really was scared then.
Roxi - I guess...it just seems so...odd.
They always say that all is fair in love and war. I never really thought about love in my life after a while there. Never thought I really needed it, but that, tonight.... Was something different. A man who isn't a gargoyle wanted to listen to what I had to say. Crazy, I know. Maybe there is room for both in my life.
But at this point, the War, comes first.
I don't know if Sydney is really over everything that happened with Haven, and I feel responsible for it.
