[The scene opens in Kenji's apartment. He has a crate of alcohol drink cans on the side of his chair as he sips from a can, gazing at the television. Cami is stretched out on the couch, looking just as bored. They both then hear the creak of a door. They watch Emi's bedroom door open slightly. Emi pokes her head out the door, looking clearly upset. She looks and sounds awfully sorry for herself as she gives the puppy dog eyes to Kenji.]
Emi: Kenny, I'm sooooo sorry for what I did. Can I come out now? I want a drink...
[Kenji frowns at her.]
Kenji: No! You're not old enough yet! And you're still grounded for running off the other day!
Emi: Oh please?
Kenji: No, now go back to bed!
[Emi sulks as she steps back into her room and closes the door behind her. Kenji turns back around and sees Cami glaring at him.]
Cami: What's wrong with you Kenny? Why'd you have to be so mean to her?
Kenji: Come on Cami! You've seen what she's like. One sip and she's off like a rocket! I'm just trying to keep her out of trouble or stop her from doing anything that she'll regret...
Cami: But she's twenty! She's not a kid...
Kenji: Well you could have fooled me!
[Cami suddenly jumps off the couch.]
Cami: You know what? That's it...
[She storms to Emi's door and knocks.]
Cami: Hey Emi? Kenji said you're not grounded anymore. You can come out now.
[She can hear Emi's muffled voice on the other side of the door.]
Emi: *muffled* Really? You mean it?
Cami: Yeah.
[Suddenly the door swings wide open. Cami avoids the door just in time as Emi steps out of her room, wearing a pink nightie, with an excited look on her face.]
Emi: Yay! Party time!!
[Kenji face-palms as she jumps onto the couch. She then goes to grab a can but Kenji snatches it from her before she can open it.]
Kenji: No drinks! You drunk enough in Italy the other week anyway...
[Cami looks furious.]
Cami: What the hell Kenji?
[Emi stops her from going berserk on him.]
Emi: It's okay Cami! I'm not thirsty anyway. Besides, I have something to show you guys...
Kenji: Oh boy! This oughta be good...
[Emi skips back into her room. She shortly comes rushing back into the lounge with a Hello Kitty-themed deck of playing cards.]
Emi: I bought this really cute packet of cards from this weird guy in the market. Maybe we could play a game of snap or something...
Cami: Actually that sounds like fun. Come on Kenji!
[Kenji sighs and joins the two girls as Emi hands the cards to Cami to shuffle. They all sit around a small table, oblivious of the ominous weather report on the television.]
Emi: Okay let's play!!
[They begin playing. She snaps a card down, and immediately bursts out laughing at the picture of the jack of hearts.]
Emi: Oh my god! That looks like Ian Andrews!!
[Cami inspects the card and giggles.]
Cami: You're right, it does! Except this card's this ugly...
Emi: Yeah, he stinks too. Just like Aaron and that smelly Rye!
Cami: Oh don't get me started on Rye...
Kenji: Umm excuse me? The game?
Cami: Oh right sorry...
[Cami snaps her card down and springs up to her feet.]
Cami: It's getting a little windy outside. I'm gonna shut the window.
[She does so and resumes playing. They are all into the game, oblivious to the brewing hurricane outside the apartment. Later in the game it's Kenji's turn and as he places a card onto the table, Emi suddenly slams her hand on his hand.]
Emi: SNAP!!!
Kenji: OWW!!
[Kenji recoils his hand as Emi cheers herself on.]
Emi: I WIN!! I WIN!!
Kenji: Win? We're playing snap not slap! What's wrong with you?
Emi: You're just jealous cuz you lost...
Cami: Yeah calm down Kenny. It's just a game...
[Suddenly the entire flat shakes, and Emi, Cami and Kenji are flung onto the floor. The cards fly all over the place as they struggle to get back up.]
Cami: What was that!?
Kenji: I don't know...
Emi: WEEEE!!! This is fun!!!
[They all look out the window and see that they were stuck inside of the eye of some kind of storm. They could see cars, cows and people on bicycles flying outside the window as everything continues to twist and spin. Emi is having a great time, but Cami and Kenji are not doing so well, desperately trying to hang on to something.]
[After what seems like hours of hectic spinning in the middle of a twister, everything finally stopped spinning. Everything in the room is a mess, and Cami and Kenji looks completely windswept, while Emi looks like she just had a swell time on a roller coaster.]
Emi: AGAIN!! AGAIN!!
[Cami grabs her shoulders and calms her down as they approach the shattered open window.]
Cami: Umm Emi... I don't think we're in Vegas anymore...
[As the dusty fog created by the twister finally fades, they are treated with a bright blue sky with fluffy clouds, and with a shining rainbow high above them. Cami and Kenji are awestruck.]
Emi: Ooooooohhh vacation time!!!
[Emi jumps out the window, realizing that what was a 10-stories tall building had suddenly become 1 flat, as if just a chunk of the entire building was ripped off and propelled in the hurricane. They were the only 3 in that chunk of the building. Cami and Kenji see her already rushing towards a small village in a short distance and reluctantly follow her. Kenji mumbles as he does so.]
Kenji: I told you...that girl is gonna find herself in trouble one of these days...
Cami: Will you be quiet Ken? This actually kinda reminds me of a film I used to...wait...look!!
[Cami rushes back towards the remnants of the flat, noticing something crushed underneath. It's a pair of legs sticking from underneath, with a pair of stripy socks and a pair of red converse boots. Kenji looks appalled.]
Kenji: Oh no! Our flat killed someone! Nice shoes though...
Cami: Oooooooohh shiny...
[Kenji looks strangely at Cami as she realizes what she just said and shrugs.]
Cami: Sorry, just kinda slipped out...
Kenji: Please, I don't think I could up with another Emi...
[Cami laughs as she takes the shoes for herself. As she turns around however she is surprised to be met by a band of garden gnomes, all with delighted smirks on their faces.]
Gnome Leader: You did it! You defeated the Punk Witch of the East!
[Cami and Kenji look confused.]
Cami: Wait...what?
Gnome Leader: Come! Bring those boots and follow us! I shall explain back in the village of Gnomekinland!
Kenji: Gnomekinland!?
[Cami and Kenji arrive in the village, and a crowd of gnomes suddenly gather. They surround them as the gnome leader steps before them.]
Gnome Leader: I am the leader of the village of Gnomekinland. We've already had the pleasure of meeting your friend...
Kenji: Emi? Where is she?
??: AAAHHH!!! PUT ME DOWN!!!!
[Everyone's attention suddenly turns to Emi, who is holding one of the gnomes upside down by the ankles.]
Emi: Awww come on! Sing the oompa loompa song!! Pretty pretty please with sugar on top?
Kenji: EMI!! Put that gnome down!
Emi: But...but I was just...oh fine!!
[She puts the gnome down and rejoins the two, immediately noticing Cami's shiny boots.]
Emi: Oooooooooohh sooooooo shiny!!
[Cami stops her from grabbing them.]
Cami: I seen them first!
[Emi pouts as Cami turns back to the gnome leader.]
Cami: So anyway, what's going on here anyway? What is this place and what was that about some punk witch or something...
Gnome Leader: Yes. Those boots belonged to the Punk Witch of the East. She has haunted Gnomekinland for many years but now she is finally gone! We owe you a great debt. Take those boots as a token of our appreciation. Now is there anything else that you require?
[Emi suddenly jumps up and down bursting with excitement.]
Emi: Ooh! Ooh! I want a pony! I want a pony!!
Cami: I thought we already talked about this. You don't have anywhere to put it...
Emi: I'm willing to share my room...
[Kenji face-palms.]
Kenji: Okay look gnome guy, I don't know how we got here, but we'd like to know how to get back home. These two have a match on Thursday, and I have a poker night downtown...
Gnome Leader: Well that's simple! Just go see the Wizard of Vars!
Kenji: That what?
Cami: Did you just say the Wizard of O...
Gnome Leader: NO!! I mean the Wizard of Vars! Not what you was about to say... Anyway yeah, he can totally help you out. Just ask him and he'll grant your any wish!
[Emi looks intrigued.]
Emi: Any wish?
Gnome Leader: Indeed!
Cami: Where can we find him?
Gnome Leader: Why in his frat home of course! Just follow the orange cobble road. You can't miss it!
[He points down the orange cobble road, which continued on to a great distance. You couldn't see where it led, but it presumably led for a few miles, passed a few woods and fields. Kenji looks unenthusiastic about walking such a great distance.]
Kenji: You serious? We have to walk all that?
[Cami smirks at him teasingly.]
Cami: What's wrong? Not fit enough?
Kenji: No! It's just...
[Emi suddenly bolts off.]
Emi: Last one there is a rotten egg!!
[Cami follows her.]
Cami: Wait for me! Super Shiny Tiger Twins go!!
[Kenji sighs and looks back at the gnome leader, who hasn't finished talking.]
Gnome Leader: Before you go, I must warn. Beware of the Dreaded Dick of the South! He is a horrible man and his three terrible slaves obey his every command. I pray that you don't encounter them...
Kenji: I have a feeling that we might...but don't worry. It's nothing that those two can't handle...
Gnome Leader: I wish you were right. I just hope you find the wizard before they find you...
[With that said, Kenji follows the two girls, who are further down the road. The gnomes wave to them as they scurry down the cobble road. Little do Emi, Cami and Kenji know of the adventure that awaited them...]
