What a pissa!
Scene 1:
The scene opens up on Brandon Nytrus. He is sitting in his locker room on his cell phone.
Brandon: … Yup… Let him in… Okay. Cool.
Brandon turns the phone off and leans back in his chair. He unlocks the phone and starts to fiddle with whatever is on the phone. A couple moments later, there is a knock at the door. Nytrus stands and opens the door.
Brandon: Oh. You? Really?
The camera only shows Nytrus’ face. He takes a look down and up and smiles.
Brandon: Been a long time, hasn’t it?
The camera turns to show Dennis Brown standing in the door way. He is smiling and is leaning on the door frame. He walks in the room and by Brandon without saying a word.
Brandon: What’s that grin on your face for?
He still says nothing and begins to fiddle with the TV remote. He sits on the leather couch and watches the TV.
Brandon: Den… Hey… Dennis.
Still no answer from the MasterMind.
Brandon: Okay, you’re pissing me off now.
Dennis turns and stands up. He walks over to Nytrus and grabs his arms.
Dennis: That’s exactly what I want from you. Get pissed. Get angry. I don’t like this new prissy Brandon. Where’s the ruthless Brandon Nytrus? What happened to the Brandon Nytrus that would stop at nothing to beat down every man that stepped in his way? That’s the Brandon Nytrus that won championships. That’s the man I used to manage and make sure was producing every chance he got. Where is he? I know he’s in there. From last week’s TNT I am not liking where it’s going already.
Brandon walks to the TV and turns it off.
Brandon: He woke up.
Dennis scoffs.
Dennis: See, now you’re just being crazy. “He woke up.”
He says mockingly.
Dennis: Why are you doing this to yourself? This is not something you can just change within a couple of weeks.
Brandon: Yes it most certainly is… I woke up. I realized that if I change my attitude, I can change my career drastically. I’m still ruthless. I’m still brutal. I’m still going to kick ass. But, I’ve realized that those people, being the fans, are there to support, not to attack. And that it’s not all about me. It’s not just about what I want. It’s all about what they want. And what they want is for Iconic Aggression to be de-throwned and that’s EXACTLY what I’m going to do. But, obviously I can’t do it myself. But, I’m going to try. Trust me.
Dennis moves slowly over to Brandon and again, puts his hands on his arms and shakes him a little.
Dennis: All I’m saying is that if you walk out on who you really are… Then what’s the point of me being on your side?
Brandon is shocked by this statement. He looks at Dennis very intently and then shakes him off. He walks to the door and opens it.
Dennis: What, you’re kicking me out?
Brandon says nothing and stands there with the same expression.
Dennis: Really? After all I’ve done for you? After I brought you up? This is how you repay me?
Brandon doesn’t budge an inch.
Dennis: Fine. I’ll leave. Just know that if I walk out that door… That’s it.
Brandon still doesn’t move.
Dennis: Fine.
Dennis walks through the door and looks at Brandon. He studies him, but to no avail. He walks out and Brandon shuts the door behind him. Nytrus walks over to the couch where Dennis once sat, and sits down. He puts his head down and brings his hands to the back of his neck. He sighs deeply and gets a phone call.
After a couple of rings, Nytrus reaches for the phone and picks it up. He doesn’t recognize the number but he answers it anyway.
Brandon: Hello? … I’m what? … With who? … Hold on … Yeah, I’ll come see you… Yes now… Okay… Bye.
He hangs up and puts the phone down. He stands and leaves the locker room as the scene fades out to black.
Scene 2:
[/b]The scene opens on a jam packed small arena in the Wisconsin area. The crowd has assembled for a MPW house show. The crowd erupts when the sound of “King Of Stereo” by Saliva hits the PA. Brandon Nytrus walks out in a collared shirt and jeans. He is smiling widely and walks down the ramp with a skip in his step. Once he enters the ring, he is handed a microphone. The music dies down as does the crowd.
Brandon: Last week, on TNT, I faced the Television Champion, Lucas King.
The crowd boos. Brandon nods his head.
Brandon: Now, at the end of the match, when I thought I was taking control and was looking to end the entire thing, your Sin City Champion, Jackson Blaze, was shown backstage. This doesn’t seem out of the ordinary with his “hogging the spotlight” attitude, but nevertheless… He was shown holding a baseball bat. Then, there on the ground in a bloody mess was my best friend Aaron Cruz. Now, Aaron and I have had our differences for the past couple of weeks, but the man is still my friend. Jackson knew that would get under my skin. And indeed it did. You see, I’m a man who protects his friends. I am a man who makes sure that they’re okay before he makes sure of himself. But after Jackson attacked Aaron I just had to go after him. No matter if it was in the middle of the match or not. So I did. I got counted out, so Lucas escaped yet again.
The crowd boos loudly.
Brandon: When I got backstage and got to Aaron, Jackson was no where to be found. I helped get Aaron to an ambulance and was pleased to find out later that night that he will be okay.
Brandon takes a moment as the crowd lets out a somewhat silent cheer.
Brandon: Then, I decided to take matters into my own hands. After Jackson’s match, I went after him. I took him down. But, your MPW World Heavyweight and Television Champions just couldn’t stay away. They HAD to get involved. Therefore, I was beaten down by all three. What do they call that? The “pack of dogs” mentality?
Nytrus laughs.
Brandon: Well, this week I will be facing Jackson and his boyfriend Trey Baxter. Now, I guess “The Bastard” and I have gotten into somewhat of a rivalry for the past couple of weeks. Well, this will come to a head this week. Trey and I have somewhat of a past. You see, I fought Trey many times for the MPW World Heavyweight Championship in the beginning of my MPW career. But, to no avail. I lost the three meetings we had for the championship. But, I gave him some of the best matches of his career. Of course, that is still no excuse for losing. But it’s something to take away from a loss anyway.
Jackson and I have no history. We haven’t been around each other a lot. I haven’t faced him in any match. Not until now. I face him and Trey in a tag team match. Now, as for my partner? Well, I have no idea. You see, the powers that be try to keep that a secret for “entertainment purposes”. And hey, who doesn’t love a good surprise, especially in the world of professional wrestling, am I right? That is one thing that they do well, the people upstairs, they know how to keep us sports entertained. I have as much as an idea for who my partner is as you do. And I think I’m as excited as you are for this match.
Brandon’s body language shifts a moment.
Brandon: I now want to say something, directly to Jackson Blaze.
He looks down and clears his throat.
Brandon: Jack… You may have gotten me out of the game for a moment last week. But not anymore. My soul focus is on you and that Sin City Championship. And over these next couple of weeks and until Goldrush, you will see the toughest competition for that championship you have ever seen, you hear me? I know it. You know it. They know it.
The crowd cheers loudly.
Brandon: And if you think for one moment that I won’t give my all for that title? Well, you must be crazier than I thought you were.
His music hits as he raises his arms up. The crowd pops as he leaves the ring and up through the curtain.
Scene 3:
Brandon is walking down the streets of Milwaukee. He looks angry. The camera pans out to show that he walking towards to Milwaukee General Hospital, where Aaron Cruz is staying.
He walks through the front doors and into the lobby.
Nurse: I’m sorry sir, visiting hours are over.
Brandon looks surprised and walks to the front desk.
Brandon: Ma’am, I need to see my friend. He is in a critical position and I need to know he’s okay.
Nurse: I’m sorry, but I already told you that visiting hours are over.
Brandon paces around the lobby for a moment, then looks back at the nurse with urgency.
Brandon: Okay, when do visiting hours start?
The nurse looks over her glasses at Nytrus and then at the computer and starts to type. After a brief silence she finds what she was looking for.
Nurse: Well sir, hours begin at 7 o’clock a.m.
Brandon: Well, what time is it now?
Nurse: Midnight.
Brandon becomes frustrated.
Brandon: Listen, I have a very busy schedule for the next couple of days and then I’m leaving Milwaukee on Friday. I will pay for you to let me in. Just please let me see my friend.
The nurse looks at Brandon. Then sighs heavily.
Nurse: I could get fired for this, you know.
Brandon sends a quirky grin her way. She sighs again.
Nurse: What’s your friend’s name?
Brandon: Cruz, Aaron Cruz.
She types the name in her computer. She looks for a second.
Nurse: Mr. Cruz is on floor 2, room 156.
Brandon smiles and begins to the door.
Brandon: Thank you, I’ll be in and out in a snap. They won’t even know I was here.
The nurse shoos him away with a smile as Brandon exits through the door.
A few moments later, the scene opens up on Aaron Cruz laying in bed watching SportsCenter. His head is wrapped completely. He has a cast on his left arm. His midsection is wrapped in blood stained gauze.
Aaron: NO!! Fahking Bruins!! FAHK YOU, Patrick Kane, yah bastid.
There is a knock at the door.
Aaron: It’s open.
Brandon enters and Aaron’s face lights up.
Aaron: Aye!! Yah bastid. How are ya?
Brandon smiles and sits next to him on a chair next to the bed.
Brandon: I’m good man, how are you?
Aaron: Been betta. Fahking Bruins man. Can’t fahking believe it. Two goals in 17 seconds!? Who tha hell lets that shit happen!? Fahking Tuukka. He had one job!! 1:16 seconds til game 7 and he blew it!!
Brandon looks to the TV and laughs.
Brandon: Yeah, I know I watched the game.
Aaron looks at Brandon with concern.
Aaron: You know… All this MPW shit has made you loose ya accent.
Brandon becomes confused.
Brandon: Huh?
Aaron: Ya from Bahston. Ya damn accent. Ya been travilin too much and now look at ya. Ya talking like ya from Rhode Island or Delaware or some shit.
Brandon laughs.
Brandon: I guess just being around people who don’t talk like that kinda made me loose it.
Aaron: Next time ya on vacation, stay in Bahston wit me. Then, you’ll get it back.
Brandon laughs.
Brandon: You’re feeling alright? Those guys beat you up pretty bad.
Aaron: I’ll be alright. These fahking casts are shit, though. I can’t move and it’s drivin me crazy. But, otha then that, I’ll be good.
Brandon stands up.
Brandon: Good. I’m facing them this week. Trey and Jackson. They won’t tell me who my partner is yet. But whoever it is… I’m gonna kick their ass.
Aaron smiles and nods.
Aaron: Ya damn right! Those bastids deserve a pissa of a beatin. I’ll be watchin.
Brandon laughs.
Brandon: Good. I need you to watch. You can live vicariously through me.
Aaron looks at Brandon with a puzzled face.
Aaron: Vi… What?
Brandon tilts his head a bit.
Brandon: Vicariously? It means to live through me.
Aaron still looks as confused as ever, but shakes it off and looks at the TV.
Brandon: Well… Uh… Listen, I gotta go… So, I’ll-
Aaron: Before ya go… Look in my bag.
Brandon finds the red bag at the head of the table and opens it up. Inside there is a crow bar. Brandon smiles and looks at Aaron.
Brandon: Like back in the old days.
Aaron: CZW mothafucka!
Brandon laughs and takes it out.
Aaron: Take it. You need it more than I do. If those bastids decide to fahk you again… You give’em a pissa of a beatin. For me, okay?
Brandon lifts it up in a sort of toasting motion.
Brandon: For you.
Aaron nods. Brandon walks up to him. Grabs his uncasted hand and gives him a hug. He walks out as the scene fades to black.
