Brandon: What does my win at Goldrush mean to me?...
... Everything.
[We open up on Brandon Nytrus sitting down facing to the side of the camera. In the back is a purple lit backdrop that has the MPW.com logo boldly shown. Brandon sits with his new TShirt on and his Sin City Championship strewn across his shoulder. He wears sunglasses and is chewing some gum.]
Brandon: I mean... It's been a while. January was the last time I really felt that I really was a champion. I had made to the top. Only to see it slip away only 6 days later.
Was I mad? Of course. Not at Kuk. Not at MPW management. At myself. I let it slip away. And for that... I went on a dry spell. 6 months. A week before 7! And I had to scratch and claw and scream and bitch and moan just so I can reach there again. Reach the top. Become someone who matters here. And don't get me wrong. You look back at every match I've had over the past year and you can say without a shadow of a doubt it was my best year. Sure, I had to step away for a bit. But I came back and I was ready for gold.
[Pictures show now of Brandon vs Cable in the steel cage and of Nytrus holding up the title.]
Brandon: I think of myself as a warrior. As a true competitor. I work my ass off day in and day out to get some headway with the fans and the locker room. And I'll be the first to admit that I have some true rivals in that locker room. But that doesn't hold me down. We're not here to make friends. No one is. Sure it happens. Some times we meet some of the people who stay our friends for our entire life in this industry. Some people just can't see the difference.
[The camera comes back to Nytrus.]
Brandon: What about Aaron? Oh, he's a different story. He is my best friend.
[He takes a second to smile.]
Brandon: We said goodbye to him on Monday. He left for Valley Forge, Pennsylvania and then uh, he'll be stationed in Afghanistan before we know it. He's a military man now. He uh, he's like a brother to me.
[He begins to choke up and then takes a deep breathe.]
Brandon: And my wife? Oh. I love her more than any man could love a woman. She is the light of my life. She is the reason I get up in the morning and strive to be my best. And the fact that we have a little boy coming in about 8 months makes me tear up even more.
[He is smiling uncontrollably.]
Brandon: Why am I telling this to you? Well... Because the reason I am what I am today is because of the people I hang out with. The people I chose to keep around me. And apparently to my lovely opponents this week, I have to tell them I will never be the same after Sunday. Ha... Isn't that hysterical. Plus, they like to point out the weakest links in my group, The Resistance?
[He laughs casually.]
Brandon: My opponents on Sunday? They're a perfect example. You see... What Samuel and Clay don't know, is when I'm facing someone? I pay attention. And yes, Chrissy and I did sit down and watch that little desert segment that they did. Real cute.
They talk about how... They're going to "strip down the weakest links". I'll go on record and say that in The Resistance, there are no weak links. Because if you look at every piece of this group, which I see they already have done... You'll see that no one, at they're full strength, is by no means weak.
Gabriel has an injury. And if you are gonna prey off of someone being injured and use that to tear us down and call us weak. It makes you seem weaker than you thought. Thus, making you more hypocritical than anything.
[He wipes his beard and smiles.]
Brandon: I've been in this business for a while now. I've come across some tough competitions. This one being no different. These guys are tough. I mean, for the first time in my MPW career, I will be facing someone who, pound for pound, has the exact same technique and strategy as me. I, for a long time, was the only beast in MPW. But now... Now, I have someone to give me a run for my money.
No, I'm not scared... More eager to get in the ring and face him. He may be a little bit shorter, but he has me in the weight department. Regardless, this is will be something that MPW has never seen before. Two giants, head to head. He has already made himself into somewhat of a superstar now. People are actually paying attention to The Night Terrors after Clay won the Goldrush tourney. More than you can say about Samuel...
[He raises his eyebrows as the interviewer asks a question you cannot hear.]
Brandon: Am I saying that Clay is the leader of The Night Terrors? No. I'm simply saying that Clay is better than Samuel.
And they like to blame MPW Management for not booking him. Or not, giving him the right opportunities... But let me just say, that they like to talk about The Resistance's weakest links? Maybe they should do some... Soul searching...
Don't get me wrong, this is a very talented roster. You can't make it in this company without being good and tough. What I'm saying is Clay has proven himself good enough to be without a partner. And with that... He's started the ticking timebomb that is tick-tick-ticking away until suddenly it-goes-*silently*BOOM...
And suddenly, Samuel understands that Clay is better and for months and months he's been talking about stripping away the Resistance's weakest links and others being the weak links... But what he finally starts to get... Is that he, himself, is the weak link. He's dragging Clay down.
[He takes a sip of water.]
Brandon: They have no idea what and who they're messing with. I am part of the power to be reckoned with. I am part of something that everyone, especially Iconic Aggression, should fear. Because, I may be the target for The Night Terrors this week? But if they don't watch their actions and they don't look within themselves to find a better way of treating this power... They are going to end up the targets. And trust me, Samuel and Clay, you do not want that.
As for Sunday? Make me the target. Make me the guy you want beat up and weak. Because before you even blink... Chrissy will kick your asses. She's not just some rag doll that everyone likes to make her out to be. Because she's been given this reputation of this prissy little girl. She's not. There's a reason why she is a part of this group. And you and everyone else in that locker room and in this company and in that arena will see why.
And sooner or later, when you guys are laying in bed in your hotel room or upside down in a cave or in a den or under a car or in a car for that matter, or wherever your pathetic little asses like to sleep, look up to the ceiling and think, "What the fuck happened?"... You'll regret ever trying to mess with The Resistance. Because we are not 5 separate beings. We are one. We are the Resistance. And we will stop you, we will stop Iconic Aggression and we will rule MPW.
[He snickers.]
Brandon: We'll see you Sunday.
[He gets up and walks away and the scene fades to black.]
