It seems that when one evil is on the ropes, another rises from out of nowhere in it's place. Sometimes, I feel like I'm playing whack-a-mole, trying so hard to put out all these fires.
But now, at least I have back up. The resistance has my back at all times. And for that, I am thankful. Times like these, you apparently need all the help you can get, simply because new factions seem to be popping up like weeds in a garden. But it makes me glad to know that this is the exact reason the Resistance was formed. To act like weed killer. To stomp out these things before they get too out of hand.
Speaking of out of hand, Laila has been just that. It's actually a lot out of hand. What is it with people and instantly turning to the dark side when given the chance? Are there cookies or something? It's insane. Or maybe just my mere presence makes people do that type of thing. Laila wants to spread fear and chaos, just like the Night Terrors, just like Crow. Is there an evil convention in town all of a sudden? Everybody wants to spread a reign of terror. What's confusing is Laila being really hypocritical about it.
To clear things up, no one in the Resistance is a leader. It's one for all, and all for one. That one being a goal of independence. A goal of true freedom from oppression. I've always spread this type of message, always tried to be the person to stand up for what's right. And, it holds true that what's right isn't always popular, and what's popular isn't always right. People who wish to spread chaos and despair are apparently all the rage these days, and I stand, along with the Resistance, on the other side of the argument. Because chaos and despair only help the greedy, selfish tyrants who prey upon those weaker than them. That is what we are against. This is the message that we spread. You can disagree with it, but it completely paints you as the bad guy. But that's what you want, isn't it? This is what Laila stands for. She may say it 100 different ways, but her actions were clear enough. The words may change, but the message is the same. I'm taking what I want, from those who don't have a lot of it to begin with.
That's where I have to come in.
My work continues to pile up week after week, and now, it brings me to Laila. Picking on Emi was not a smart move. Attacking people who cannot defend themselves is not a sign of strength or domainance, rather, a sign of weakness. Weak-mindedness. You, Laila are so desperate to make a name for yourself, that you have taken to being a bully. This is what you, a woman who actually has a lot of talent, has reduced herself to in order to gain an edge. But you want to know something Laila. I've thought the way you do now. And I know why I don't do what you do.
Becuase it's too easy.
But I try very hard to promote peace and generally good things, and you see that as a negative. That's fine, you are entitled to your opinion. But you know something Laila? You are pushing something that you shouldn't push. You are trying to get me angry or upset by doing what your doing, and it is annoying, but it's not the worst thing someone has ever done to me, or even tried for that matter.
Because I am a nice person, I let this kind of stuff roll off my back. But, if you want to really go there Laila, we can go there. I just need to warn YOU, you are not going to like where this will go. No, pushing me in the wrong thing to do, because you know what, I can hurt people, I can be a negative person and I can do the things that you do. It's easy to stoop to your level. People do it all the time, because they don't like to put in the effort, or the time, or the attitude to really earn something and make a real impact. That is easy. Anyone can take a shortcut, or pull a fast one on somebody. I could very easily do that. I could become you, without much effort.
I could cheap shot people, kick them when their down, pick the bones of someone else's hard work, yes that's easy. Heck, if I was someone like you, I could simply walk to that ring on Sunday Night, and clock you with a chair, and call it a night. And rob you of any chance of a victory. And leave you, sitting there, cursing my name, and calling me a coward.
I could simply walk to that ring, and then as soon as the bell ring, walk away, and get counted out, again, you wouldn't be a real winner.
I could beat you, then continue to beat you until you lay a quivering mass of flesh on the canvas, maybe I tie you up and beat on your helpless body.
But that's something that you would do Laila. That's not me.
I am above that. And it's the reason, the very reason why I will walk into Reloaded and defeat you. Because the young female fans of pro wrestling, the fans of MPW deserve to have a champion they can look up to. A champion who fights for them, and not for greedy, selfish reasons. I am standing for something. To be a symbol. To be a champion.
Because people like you, don't know what heroes are. [/color]
[ Roxi and Sydney sit at a booth, labeled for Roxi. A wrestling fan festival event, and Roxi has a little bit of a line as she signs autographs, takes pictures, and just being all around friendly. Sydney just stands against the wall looking bored. ]
Roxi - Hey. You doing okay?
Sydney - Oh, just peachy.
Roxi - You didn't have to come.
Sydney - You said you needed me.
Roxi - I do.
Sydney - To do what, just stand here as no one asks for my autograph?
Roxi - To provide support.
Sydney - You're getting all the support you need. Look at all these people.
Roxi - Yeah, but, I still feel like I'm letting them down.
Sydney - You're here aren't you?
Roxi - That's not the point. I feel like I'm just...playing a character.
Sydney - And it's a character people like. You have your own booth. You've been proposed too like six times today.
Roxi - Yes, apparently, I'm marrying six guys.
Sydney - I think that's illegal.
Roxi - They don't mean it.
Sydney - Tell that to that guy over there.
[ Sydney points to a larger fan who is still staring at Roxi with a huge smile on his face. ]
Roxi - That's a little creepy.
Sydney - No, it's a lot creepy.
Roxi - Some fans are just...overzealous. But still, I feel like I haven't really done much to warrant this.
Sydney - People look up to you.
Roxi - If they knew....
Sydney - Stop it.
Roxi - I can't shake it Syd. You know that. It's starting to effect me in more ways. I mean, It's a nice line and everything, and most fans are respectful.
Sydney - So no one has copped a feel.
Roxi - Four. But I let it slide.
Sydney - You're too nice.
Roxi - I don't need a lawsuit to go with everything else.
Sydney - What everything else? You have no problems.
Roxi - I have a lot of them.
Sydney - You said it. Not me.
Roxi - Shut up.
[ Roxi stands up from her booth as the line guy in line gets his autograph and picutre. ]
Sydney - Is that it?
Roxi - I think we should go.
Sydney - What? You've only been here for an hour.
Roxi - I know. It's just, these people like me because of my looks. You know how many times I was told I'm hot today?
Sydney - 64.
Roxi - ...
Sydney - I counted.
Roxi - Wow, really?
Sydney - Yeap.
Roxi - Well, my line has died down, so...I'm going to take a break.
Sydney - So...what do I do?
Roxi - I don't know...mingle?
Sydney - Mingle?
Roxi - Yeah.
Sydney - At a wrestling convention?
Roxi - Judgemental much?
Sydney - That's not funny.
Roxi - I'm being serious.
Sydney - Sometimes, I hate you. No, I got dressed up this morning, I came with you down to this convention, I watched as 200 plus people lined up to see you. I'm not going to "mingle" this these people.
Roxi - Then we should go.
Sydney - Oh, do not guilt trip me right now.
Roxi - It's not a guilt trip on you. I let these guys down. I'm a superhero, I don't kill people.
[ Sydney shushes Roxi ]
Sydney - Keep your voice down. Look, you need to get over this. Right now. These people came here to see a person they look up to.
Roxi - It's not me.
Sydney - Stop. You need to start thinking clearly.
Roxi - No, for the first time in a long time I am thinking clearly. I've been thinking a lot lately.
Sydney - What are you getting at?
[ Roxi gets closer to Sydney, so only the two of them can hear ]
Roxi - Syd, Maybe it's time I stopped.
Sydney - ...Excuse me?
Roxi - I mean it.
Sydney - This isn't funny.
Roxi - It's not supposed to be. I mean, how long before someone else I care about gets hurt because of my actions? All of this, everything we've done, everything just continues. It never ends.
Sydney - We've saved this place hundreds of times.
Roxi - And yet, how much good have we done? Put out a few fires, won some battles, but...It's a drop in the bucket.
Sydney - You did what anyone else would have done. You need to just...take some more time off. Then, you'll come back, and be better.
Roxi - No. I don't think so. Maybe it's time. Time to stop playing games, for Lady Bedlam to just...stop, walk away. Before someone else gets hurt..
Sydney - You can't quit.
Roxi - Why?....why not?
Sydney - Because these people need you.
Roxi - The Guild will do fine without me. They did before I got there, they will when I'm gone. I'm simply a cog in the machine.
Sydney - You cannot just give up because of one bad night.
Roxi - Watch -
Sydney - Huh?
[ Just then, a small little boy with tears in his eyes, runs up and latches himself to Roxi's leg. ]
Small Child - Roxi! Roxi!
[ Confused, Roxi kneels down embraced the kid. ]
Roxi - Hey there Kiddo. What's the problem?
Small Child - I need help!
Roxi - Okay, calm down, what's your name?
Small Child - Bobby.
Roxi - Okay Bobby, everything's going to be okay, what's wrong?
Bobby - I lost my daddy.
Roxi - Uh-oh. Well, I'm sure he's around here somewhere. Let's take you to the security office and they can help you find him, okay?
Bobby - No, no! I need YOU to help find him.
Roxi - Whoa, whoa. Okay.
Bobby - I'm scared. I don't know all these people. I know you.
Roxi - You do?
Small Child -Uh-huh. You help everybody.
[ Roxi picks up Bobby and holds him close. She looks back at Sydney, who is smiling. ]
Roxi - Okay Kiddo, let's go find your daddy.
Bobby - Okay!
[ With that, Roxi walks with Bobby, holding him in her arms as she makes her way to the security office, at least to make it known that Bobby's looking for his dad. And as luck would have it, Roxi walks up right as Bobby right as his dad is registering him as lost. ]
Roxi - Hey, look at that, we found him.
Bobby - Yah! Daddy!
Bobby's dad - Oh! Bobby! There you are. I'm so sorry. Are you okay?
Roxi - He's okay.
Bobby - I was with Roxi. She helped me. She's a hero!
Bobby's dad - Thank you so much for finding him.
Roxi - Oh, don't thank me. Actually, Little Bobby found me.
Bobby's dad - Really?
Roxi - Yeah. I just brought him to you.
Bobby's dad - Well, you're a hero to me too.
Roxi - It's nothing, Bobby's a smart little boy.
Bobby - I knew you'd help me.
Roxi - Of course. It's my job. High five little guy!
Bobby - *giggle*
[ Roxi high fives the kid ]
Bobby's dad - Again, I can't thank you enough.
Roxi - It's not a problem.
Bobby's dad - Uh, just one thing...why did he run to you?
Roxi - He said he knew me, and knew I would help.
Bobby's dad - I guess he picked the right hero.
Roxi - Well, it is easy when your as handsome as he is. Bye-bye little Bobby.
Bobby - Bye Roxi!
[ Roxi goes back to her booth and sits down. She can't help but smile. ]
Sydney - And you want to give all that up.
Roxi - ...I...I can't explain that.
Sydney - Face it, that is who you are.
Roxi - No...it's...
Sydney - To that guy, and more importantly, to that little boy, you are a hero.
Roxi - ...
Sydney - They are going to remember you forever.
Roxi - Maybe.
Sydney - Maybe? How about absolutely?
Roxi - *sigh* Okay, I'll let you have that one.
Sydney - So no more talk about giving this up?
Roxi - For now.
