MPW, I let you down last week. I am so sorry for that. I guess in the game of mental chess between Trey and I, I blinked first. I let one get away. In fact, the Resistance continues to let ones slip through our fingers. It happens. I think we all need to sit and think on it.
Resistance members, understand that losing small battles, does not mean the war is over. It doesn't mean that all hope is lost. The old saying is you cannot make an omelet without breaking a few eggs. We've gone down in defeat in a few small battles, and yes, it hurts. It wounds the pride, but it should not diminish our spirits. This battle has an end in sight, in 3 weeks. Then, the end of Iconic Aggression takes place, and we will have won that war. But obviously, that's three weeks from now. In that time, things can and will change. For better or worse, they will. But, it's something we can control. And that can start this week. It can start when Johnny takes down the Night Terrors, and when Chrissy and I get one back against both Trey, and Laila. Things can change in the blink on an eye. We can, and we will turn the tide of the fight in MPW. Some battles have been won, some lost, but the goal is still the same: We, the Resistance will rid MPW of those who wish to rule with an iron fist. We will stop those whose dark agenda is bad news for the rest of the roster. It's why we're here. And why we have to continue the fight. Because MPW depends on us. And we cannot continue to let them down. We know what must be done, and I believe that all of us will be successful in the end.
Now, I have a lot to answer for. I did lose last week, right in the middle of the ring. I can own up to it. I let you down. I failed. I took my eye off the ball and it cost me. And I'm not going to take anything away from Laila. She did what anyone in her position would do. She capitalized on my mistakes. She's pretty darned good. But, that one time, it happened. I'm over it now, and it's on to the next battle. There is no time for me to whine or complain or make excuses. There's more important things ahead. I have put that loss behind me. I came up short, and that's that.
I know Chrissy gave it her all last week, and I am proud of her. I know she came up short, but it was against the World champion, and she gave a great accounting of herself. I am thrilled to be teaming with her this week, because I see that she has all the tools to become a champion. She can be a huge superstar in MPW. Just as I see in Brandon and Gabe. I see that good things will come with patience. Unfortunately, we don't have the luxury of time, so those flashes I saw from Chrissy last week, I will need again this week. And I have complete faith and trust in her that she will deliver this week. She is destined for great things. And that will start this week. I know Johnny showed her a few things, so now I know she'll be more than ready to go this week.
But onto the opposition.
Laila, congratulations. You are one of the few people in this company to pin my shoulders to the mat. You deserve a lot of praise for that. But you see, you beating me, doesn't stop the message I'm trying to send. It doesn't make me intimidated by you or worried about the long term effects. This was a bump in the road for me. It's a hurdle that I fell over. I didn't quite clear it. But that, that's my motivation for this week. I will not simply side-step that hurdle this time. No, I will jump over it, I will continue on my journey to the world title, and make sure I do not fall this time. No, this time, I'm clearing it, and at the same time, evening the score to an extent. And putting an end to any more rhetoric that is nothing more than hollow babble spread by an ignorant mouthpiece. You wanted to compare The Resistance to a cult? It's not. We have made it our mission to stop those who wish to do harm to MPW. We, the resistance, want MPW to be a place of fairness, and equality. A place where everyone, even you, gets a chance, and no one has to live and try to compete under oppression. We're not trying to take over MPW, But to liberate it. That, has always been my goal, and it will continue to be, no matter who I am in the ring again, be it you, or Trey Baxter.
Speaking of which, Hello Trey. You know, for everything that you've said, everything you'd tried to start, and your continued bashing, I have to say, I'm impressed. You have done exactly what you've said you were going to do since I came back. You have defeated everyone in the resistance. You have turned back every challenge thrown in front of you, and I have faltered. But, your math is a little off. I faltered one time. I slipped up last week, and you didn't. But in the span of 3 weeks, all of that will become irrelevant. It will be you and I facing off for the MPW World championship. But until then Trey, you can continue to do whatever it is you think will help you in our match. And this week, you get a taste of what's coming at High Stakes. And if you think that I don't notice what you're trying to do, with this nonchalant attitude, I see right through it. I know you're not stupid Trey, please don't act like I am. You seem to have the edge so far, but after Reloaded, when your team loses, and the tide turns, I hope you get serious. I hope that you understand what's going on around you. I have taken down delusional champions before. I sure hope you understand it can happen to you, just as easily. Iconic Aggression has no place in MPW, and I will see to it, that there is nothing left of it, no more bleeding gold after High Stakes. You may be bleeding, but it won't be gold. This week, everything that you hold dear, will begin to crack and crumble. You will begin to lose your grip on what you hold most dearly. But I, I have so much more in store for you Trey. Taking it all in one fell swoop is too easy. You took everything from me once, but you didn't finish the job. But I'm going to take my time. Let it fully sink in just how much you're going to lose, before I take it from you.
3 weeks, Trey. Then when the stakes are highest...you lose. Everything. You'll just lose a match on Reloaded.
You can thank me later.
[ Roxi and Sydney sit on the roof of a building, waiting.]
Sydney - You...you up for this?
Roxi - I guess.
Sydney - You don't have to, you can just go back, I can handle this.
Roxi - No, we're a team. We stick together.
Sydney - You sure?
Roxi - Yeah.
Sydney - Alright, let's go.
[Sydney and Roxi move along the roof, when Roxi looks down and her foot slips off the edge, she grabs the edge as she falls off, hanging there, more embarassed than anything.]
Sydney - ...Are you alright?
Roxi - Yeah. I'm fine.
Sydney - Come on, let me help you up.
[ She does. ]
Roxi - Sorry.
Sydney - Are you sure you're okay?
Roxi - Yes. I can do this. It's just...been a while.
[ Sydney shoots Roxi a look ]
Roxi - What?
Sydney - Nothing.
[ The two move on, and they eventually find their target, a group of men, unloading a truck. ]
Sydney - Okay, ready, on 3....
Roxi - Wait...
Sydney - What?
Roxi - Is it..."3" then go? or when you say "3" we go?
Sydney - After.
Roxi - Then why did you say on 3?
Sydney - It was just an expression.
Roxi - It's very confusing.
Sydney - Can we stop the bad guys please?
Roxi - ...Okay. After "3"
Sydney - Ready?
Roxi - Ready.
Sydney - 1....
Roxi - 2...
Sydney - Wait...why are you saying two?
Roxi - Speeding up things.
Sydney - No, it's on my count.
Roxi - Fine.
Sydney - Now....1...
Roxi - 2..3!
Sydney - Sonofa...
[ Without warning, Roxi leaps down and surprises the men. ]
Roxi - Hello boys. I'm lost. Can anyone help me out?
[ Sydney jumps down, looking angry. ]
Sydney - What was that?
Roxi - It's called being coy.
Sydney - You jumped the count!
Roxi - I got tired of waiting.
Thug - You two sound like a married couple. Maybe you need a man in your lives. I'll take care of you both.
Roxi - *Gasp* You mean it? Aw, thanks mister.
Sydney - Shut up.
Roxi - You have no sense of drama.
Sydney - Could we?
Roxi - Right. Alright boys, let's fight.
Sydney - Thank you.
Thug - Get 'em boys!
[ And thus, the brawl commences, with Roxi and Sydney easily dispatching the thugs, until one gets behind Roxi and tackles her to the ground. The two struggle for a while until Roxi begins to frantically try to get this guy off her. In a display of raw adrenaline, Roxi throws the thug off her, mounts him, and begins beating him. After a few seconds, the man is unconscious, but Roxi continues to beat him. Sydney has to tackle her friend off the guy after about a full minute. The rest of the thugs scatter. ]
Sydney - What the hell?
Roxi - I...I..
Sydney - You could have killed him.
Roxi - I...I'm sorry...I don't know...
[ Sydney drops down and checks the guy's pulse. ]
Sydney - He's alive. Barely. C'mon, let's go.
Roxi - I don't know what happened.
Sydney - I think I do. Let's go. The cops will be here soon, and they'll clean this mess up.
[ Back at the apartment, Roxi sulks while Sydney paces back and forth. ]
Roxi - I already said I was sorry.
Sydney - I know you did. We're past that now.
Roxi - So, where are we?
Sydney - I think you need to learn, all over again, just how to fight.
Roxi - What? I'm fine.
Sydney - What I saw tonight was you panicking. You let one guy get on top of you, and then, you exploded.
Roxi - I guess I had some bad flashbacks.
Sydney - Well, until you're ready, we've got work to do.
Roxi - What do you suppose we do?
Sydney - I have an idea, but you have to trust me, and try to control yourself.
Roxi - I will try.
[ Sydney leans down next to Roxi ]
Sydney - I know you will. And we're going to get through this. Now, I think you should probably talk to someone who doesn't know about all this.
Roxi - Who?
Sydney - You're friend.
Roxi - ....
Sydney - Someone who still believes in you.
Roxi - ...Of course! But...you think it'll work?
Sydney - She loves you.
Roxi - I guess.
Sydney - Then we'll ease you back into action. Take it slow.
Roxi - Syd...Thanks for this. Thanks for stopping me out there. Thanks for putting up with me. I let you down, I'm sorry. It won't happen again.
