(We open in a dark room where a single bare light bulb illuminates a small area of the room. In the midst of this light hunched over, sitting in a folding chair, with his elbows resting on his thighs with his head bowed is Impaler. The only other thing that can be made out in the light is a sizeable and ornate Grandfather Clock sitting behind Impaler and to the left.)
Impaler (Slowly and Somberly): I don’t think the MPW quiet gathers the gravity of this whole situation. Some people wonder why we do what we do, why The Damned does what we do. I will enlighten you all just a little glimpse. Give you all a glimmer of our purpose.
(Impaler looks up into the camera.)
Impaler: You see first you have the Brother’s Pestilence and Famine or as you may know them as The Night Terrors, Samuel and Clay and they’ve done their jobs spreading chaos and disorder. Then they were followed soon by the man capable of swallowing the World with a single world from his tongue, Brother War more commonly known as Crow. Now which Brother am I, which one of these riders would I fill in with, which one is left. A pale horse remains and it has my name on it and I have ridden long and hard over these years. And forever and a day Hell has followed where ever I may go.
(Impaler smiles with a menacing twinkle in his eyes.)
Impaler: Soul Shadow, you had the opportunity to find out firsthand what it is like to go face up with all four horsemen of the MPW’s Apocalypse. Last week, broken, battered, confused, these are just a few of the words to describe you’re state last week, trapped in a cage with absolutely no escape as the Revolution begged to get into the fray. They begged to end your pain. They wanted to end your suffering because we ended it for you. We were your mercy, your sweet surrender, what we gave you was the satisfaction of an end. But, I guess the end we gave you was not good enough for you because here you are back begging at Death’s door for another end, something different, what’re you expecting? Something more, something greater than what was given to you, Soul Shadow you’re a greedy man. We offered you more. You were offered a seat at the table in the midst of the chaos. You were given a chance to ride with gods but instead you turned a cold shoulder, you spat in the face of Crow and in that one motion, you spat in the face of all of us. You denied the teachings that would have made you a god among men and instead you opted out, you left yourself alone, bare in the face of monsters.
(Impaler now turns his gaze to the Grandfather Clock behind him.)
Impaler: A clock signifies time, some that both you and the MPW lack at this juncture. Something that you wish you had more of because Soul Shadow, the more time you waste on your ignorant pride and your foolish self-worth the closer time draws to the end for you. You can fight it, you can run, you can do a number of things but it is forever inevitable you will just die tired. This week you drag an innocent with you.
(Impaler takes a moment and smells the air around him.)
Impaler: And I can smell it from here you have dragged a man who is ready to die into this match with you. Chris Radke, from here I know you await mercy’s embrace. You’re ready to face death aren’t you. Not fight death but face death for what it is…THE END, the end of your suffering. To men like you Radke, I am mercy, I am the finest embrace. You don’t want to be here anymore do you? You would rather be home with family, not out here on the road. I can give you that satisfaction, just submit to my will Chris and you will be able to enjoy all of that. You can’t make that decision for yourself Chris, so let me do it for you.
(Impaler returns his gaze back to the camera and stares intently.)
Impaler: This industry is tough, it’s a brutal fact, not everyone knows when to leave, when to get out. However, that’s why people like me exist because those who are ready to face the pressure will find a way to survive what I offer which is their career’s sweetest demise. However those too afraid to step from the limelight themselves, all they need to do is ask and it shall be received. The Pale Horsemen will know what you want and he will give you exactly what you need. Now as for the man who’s standing beside me this week, it is obvious that he is a man who is not ready for the end nor is he one that Death seeks, oh no quite the opposite he is Chris Cable and Chris this week you get to be the hell that follows the Pale Horse.
(With that Impaler seated in his chair lifts his hands into the air and brings them down on a snap and a wall of fire erupts in front of the camera and when it subsides Impaler is gone but the grandfather clock remains engulfed in flames.)
