"You're Threatening Me? Get in line."
- Batman (Knightfall)
- Batman (Knightfall)
You know, I think some people are pretty upset. Some people just can't be happy for others. Some people like big belts like this go to their heads. I mean, they wouldn't even let me enjoy a proper victory celebration. I wanted to share this title victory with everyone. I wanted to be a champion of the people, like some other gentlemen I could name. And I wanted to be a fighting champion, and to prove to the rest of MPW that they have nothing to fear from the wrath of Iconic Aggression, regardless of of their tantrum last week, they do not have to fear these people. They, like everyone who does this for a living, can indeed be defeated.
In the past two weeks, I have taken down both Trey Baxter and Jackson Blaze. Jackson took the shortcut to make sure I didn't pin him, but he knows deep down that he was done. And that means more than the post match beatdown they put on me. I've had worse, and I've gotten back up. This is the desperate act of people who know full well that they are no longer untouchable. They can be stopped, and they will be stopped. Taking the world title was a huge blow, and soon, they will have nothing left, no matter how much they continue to tell you how great they are.
But it's not just Iconic Aggression, it seems that a lot of people these days feel the need to make threats to scare and threaten the people of MPW. Crow is such a person. Trying to convince not only you, but himself that yes, He will defeat me and yes he will humiliate me on Reloaded. But did you listen to his voice? Even he is uncertain that he can do it. Tough talk only goes so far. Thus far Crow has been a lot of talk, and very few results. It seems when people get their face of a pay-per-view banner, all of a sudden they feel the need to boast and brag about their own greatness, even if there is very little to brag about in the first place.
Crow, the last time that we stepped into the ring, despite your tough words and scary sounding and looking demeanor, it made little difference as I defeated you. You can claim all you like that you underestimated me, or whatever makes you feel confident, but you need to understand that since that encounter, I have become BETTER with each passing day. Meaning that you will be facing not only a superhero, but a wrestler who is not satisfied simply winning the world title, I plan on becoming the best champion in MPW History. And then, one step further and becoming the best wrestler PERIOD. That is my goal. And if you think that you can stop that goal, if you think you can shatter my dreams, I have some news for you:
Bigger and Better men have tried, and yet I am the MPW World Champion.
Try as they might, the who's who of MPW who tried their best of take me down, to put me in my place, or so they think anyway, and they have been unsuccessful. And now, you come to try again. That's fine Crow, I welcome your challenge. I welcome the fight. I want you to be completely ready in this match. Give it all you have. Because that way, when I defeat you, I will further open that path of light at the end of the tunnel. There is a new era in MPW. A new wave coming through. The era of hope. The era of light. And while you may think that the darkness can embrace the light, it will NEVER eclipse it. My words, my dreams, my skills, my beliefs have brought me the world title, Crow. Yours have brought you rhetoric and a really pale complexion. You could use some time in the light.
On Reloaded, I will be that light. The light of justice and hope. And will shine it all down upon you.
Make no mistake Crow, you, like those who think like you, will be stopped, you will be defeated. I did it once, and I will do it again.
Because that is what heroes do.
[ Roxi, clad in her costume sits in an alley rooftop, looking down at a particular old man who stands outside an isolated area, smoking a cigarette. Roxi drops down as the old man stares off, not really acknowledging her. ]
Roxi - You know those things will kill you, Mr. Jameson.
Mr. Jameson - I'm 70 years old, what do I care?
Roxi - You know this place needs you.
Mr. Jameson - Just like the rest of the city needs you? Yet you're spending your time with a dying old man.
Roxi - You are part of this city, and I worry about you when your out like this.
Mr. Jameson - You don't have to worry about me.
Roxi - You're out here way too late.
Mr. Jameson - I'm just waiting.
Roxi - Waiting? For what?
Mr. Jameson - My daughter.
Roxi - Wait...where is she?
Mr. Jameson - I don't know.
Roxi - I don't understand...
Mr. Jameson - She's around. I expect back every day.
Roxi - Is she is some kind of trouble? I can help her...
Mr. Jameson - I don't think so. I'm sure she's just fine.
Roxi - When...when did she leave?
Mr. Jameson - A long time ago. My ex-wife won her in the custody battle.
Roxi - How long has it been?
Mr. Jameson - About 20 years.
Roxi - You've been waiting 20 years for her?
Mr. Jameson - I know she'll be back some day.
Roxi - Well, that's something to hope for I guess.
Mr. Jameson - I don't hope, I know she'll come back.
Roxi - Has...has she tried to contact you?
Mr. Jameson - I don't think so.
Roxi - So...forgive me for asking, but, what makes you think she'll come back?
Mr. Jameson - Because she's that good of a person.
Roxi - Oh...
[ Mr. Jameson quietly takes his last drag and stamps out his cigarette. ]
Mr. Jameson - You don't need to worry. You've got more important thing to worry about.
Roxi - You going to be okay?
Mr. Jameson - Of course. You came and talked with an old man. Thank you for that.
Roxi - Any time Mr. Jameson.
Mr. Jameson - You better get back to work. No need to trouble yourself with me.
[ Roxi turns to leave. ]
Roxi - ...I hope she does come back.
Mr. Jameson - So do I.
Roxi - Hey, one last thing...what does she look like?
Mr. Jameson - Last time I saw her, she was such a cute little redheaded kid. Such an adventurous little girl.
Roxi - Well...I think she'll come back.
Mr. Jameson - Thanks. Now go on, the city needs you.
[ Later, Roxi is sitting on the roof, her feet dangling over the edge, as she ponders Mr. Jameson's words. Then, a little girl comes running out of a house ]
Little Girl - Help! Help!
[ Roxi jumps down and comforts the little girl. ]
Little Girl - You gotta help!
Roxi - What's wrong?
Little Girl - Those men in my mom's house! They're going to hurt my mom!
Roxi - Where?
[ The little girl points in the direction of a yellow house. ]
Roxi - Stay outside the house, I'll go help your mom.
[ Roxi rushes towards the yellow house, and enters, the two men stop and look at her. ]
Roxi - Excuse me gents, why don't we take this outside? We're messing up this nice ladies' house.
Man #1 - Get her!
[ One of the two rushes Roxi, but She easily side steps him, and he falls out the door, tripping over the door jamb and falling. ]
Roxi - Care to join us? It's always more fun with a group.
[ The other thug now stops what he is doing and runs at Roxi but, she again sidesteps him, and he runs right into his partner. ]
Roxi - Now, you two want to tell me what your doing here? Or do I have to break out the toys?
[The two try to run away, but she takes two bolos out of her belt, and wraps up the two fleeing thugs. She quickly finishes them with some strikes. After dragging them to a spot where she can keep an eye on them, she re-enters the house. ]
Roxi - Ma'am? Are you okay?
Woman - Yes. Thank you.
Roxi - It's why I'm here.
Woman - Oh no, Michelle! Where is she?
Roxi - You're daughter?
Woman - Yes. She's not here!
Roxi - She's okay. She's right here.
[ Michelle re-enters the house from outside. ]
Michelle - Mommy!
Woman - Michelle!
[ They hug as Roxi turns to leave. ]
Woman - Thank you. So much! You are a real hero.
Roxi - It's my job.
[ Roxi finally swings away]
[ Roxi sits next to a different gargoyle statue ]
Roxi - Yeah Larry, this is awkward for me too.
[ Roxi sits Indian style on the rooftop ]
Roxi - Herman is gone, Turns out Bliss actually hit the right gargoyle. So, this is our new partnership.
[ She leans over and then back out towards the edge. ]
Roxi - This is new for everybody. I would think you could at least try to make this work. It's been just as rough for me too.
[ Roxi sighs. ]
Roxi - I know. I miss Herman. I miss Sydney. Everyone is leaving me. But, this is what happens in life. We all have to grow up and accept the responsibility.
[ Roxi starts to stand up, but then leans in as if listening to the statue. ]
Roxi - I guess you're right. We do have at least one thing in common: We're survivors.
