(We open inside an ophthalmologists’ office as Impaler sits after having his mask modified with what looks to be sunglasses to shield his eyes from the light after having Mackey Boyd spit venom into his eyes the light is still a problem for him. Impaler noticing the camera motions toward it to pay attention to his words.)
Impaler: Last week, a man attempted to blind me with the venom from one of many poisonous reptiles, now while my vision has returned the reminder is there. The operative word here is attempted, because Mackey attempted to blind me, he attempted to beat me and even though I could not see, he was the one who was blind. This is the face of everything makes me ill to think of, that a man thought he could defeat me with something so trite and obsolete. Yes I am still affected by the light but I have counter acted that in my own way. Mackey you have given reason to birth the monster behind the mask again, I have been wearing this since my release from the hospital, the world is now truly as dim as I thought it was…the world is visible but the refuse is more apparent the bleak existence of man is far more apparent through my eyes and this week the world has gotten dimmer for our World Champion Roxi Johnson.
(Impaler tilts his head to the side and his exposed mouth curls into a sinister smile.)
Impaler: You didn’t think I’d forget about you poppet? You’re a survivor, a woman on the fringe of everything and someone with more enemies than friends. Last week, Trey Baxter of Iconic Aggression takes it upon himself to nose in where it doesn’t belong but who did Trey make look good in the long run? Not you Roxi, he cost you a match to Crow. He’s the reason you now stand behind the eight ball so to speak. Because in the long run Roxie, the record books will say “The Damned – Two and the Resistance – Zero”, let’s not forget that Brandon Nytrus has already fallen at MY feet and this week what is in your head is the fact that The Damned is already usurping your respect, Trey Baxter is causing the damage, and you are looking like a paper tiger you appear to have the illusion of a threat but put to a test of time you will crumble like anything else.
(Impaler straightens up and looks into the camera the glare of the sunlight in his modified eye holes for his mask making him appear to be less than human and even more monstrous than before.)
Impaler: Roxi, we’re not the bad guys here that everyone makes us out to be, last week Mackey claimed that mine and Crow’s agenda was a religious one, that we were some despotic force looking to make the world in our image. That could not be further from the truth. In reality our structure is more Darwinian than anything. Being that in this sport only the strong should survive only those who can withstand the test of time deserve to be here. I have stood as a monument to that very thought with sixteen years’ worth of experience that says not only have I withstood the test of time I have thrived as a three time Hall of Famer, a multi-time World Champion and several other accolades to my name, I am just the man to help instill this belief and these values in a younger generation. But men and women like the Resistance or Iconic Aggression would have the MPW and its fans beLIEve that there world is a wrestling utopia that what they do is the most entertaining thing of the face of the earth. Roxi, even though we haven’t been around as long as either group we are the soul thing that will save this company from itself while you and Trey Baxter launch your cannon balls at each other and war amongst yourselves, we are picking our spots and taking our shots where they’re needed. Our group as a whole has already solidified victories over champions. We have established ourselves as being a mark above those who would hold “Presumed Positions of Authority” you know, the bright shiny gold variety.
(Impaler chuckles tipping his head back in a dark deep chuckle escape his throat as he brings his face back again to meet the camera.)
Impaler: You Roxi, you’ve just caught lightening in a bottle and now you’re trying to hold it while still making yourself look good. Roxi, it’s not possible for you is it? It’s not possible for you to be bigger than what you are right now, you’re up against the wall and you’re wondering how to escape, how to keep going and you’re not sure if your own sanity will hold out. Roxi, you cannot be a hero and still be a champion, you cannot be a symbol of greatness in two fascist, something has to give honey, either you’re a hero standing up for the “Little People” or you’re a Champion and a Testament to Your Own Greatness. Because as a Champion that whole, “Right and Wrong” thing has to go by the wayside, you need to do what it takes to defend that Championship, not worry about “doing the right thing” because as a Champion doing the right thing will cost you the right to be a Champion. In the real World the strong survive and they live to prey upon the weak Roxi, the REAL World has no place for actual saviors, just those who have the Strength of Mind, the Strength of Body, or the Strength of Will to be a savior to themselves, nothing less is acceptable in the Real World. Now you cannot straddle both Worlds for long Roxi, you can be a hero and be an inspiration to the little people or you can be a Champion and solidify your existence as a top competitor. This week is not your proving ground Roxi, it’s your burial ground because as long as you think that this is about doing “the right thing” you will inevitably and without fail do the wrong thing. Survival is not assured Roxi, devastation is.
(With that Impaler bows his head and smiles in a gleefully sinister manner as the scene fades to black.)
