So, here we are. Aftershock, with so much anticipation since I won the MPW World title at High Stakes as to just who would challenge me. Here, I was thinking Trey Baxter would want his re-match. I thought after all this time, he would step up and challenge me to try to take my title. But no. I shut him down on Reloaded two weeks ago in a street fight. Then that pesky Crow get sticking his nose in my business, trying to get himself into world title contention. But, also not going to be him. He's more busy with Keith Newman, not to mention I kicked him in the head last week.
So, just who would MPW roll out to face me, and try to this what I've worked so long and hard for? What hungry contender would they throw my way? What great wrestler would emerge?
Chris Cable.
Chris...Cable?
I would say that I was surprised. I would say it was shocking. But this wasn't the surprise I was happy about. I was shocked and surprised, but that's not the right word for the situation. There's another word I'm searching for here, Let me think on this for the moment.
Underwhelmed.
Yeah, that's it. Chris Cable was just one of those names that just kind of fizzled out as soon as he walked through the curtain. I smirked, because I know that I can and will beat him at Aftershock. It's not like I haven't done it before. I never considered Chris Cable as being the biggest threat in the world, but all kidding aside, I do actually consider him a threat for Aftershock. I know he's going to come out and really make a go of this opportunity. He is a man who really seeks to step out from the shadow that he has been hiding behind. Drake Hunter really screwed you up Chris. He lied to you about ruling MPW, and thus you fell into a place in obscurity, and now, you want out. You want this title. You want to beat me and add you name to a list that is very, very short.
Welcome to the big time Chris, I'm about to show you exactly how much it's going to take you to become the MPW World champion.
I have beaten the best in this company. I have fought the best, and I am standing, still the champion of not only the company, but of the people. And while what you're doing is exactly what I want, I am not about to let this title go any time soon. I appreciate the effort, and the bravado, and the fact that you really think you are going to be the champion. But, I'm going to beat you, right in the middle of the ring. You have been the X-Core champion, and that's commendable. But there is a difference between where you were, and where you are about to step into.
I expect your best Chris, And you'll get mine.
And as you should know, my best is what got me this title. My best, has earned me the spot where I am. My best, can and will, beat your best.
You want this title, well Chris Cable, you'd better pack a lunch, because it's going to be a long day for you.
I guess you could say that's...my gospel.
[We open at Lieutenant Murphy's apartment. He enters and removes his trench coat and hat and sighs. He doesn't notice Roxi sitting in his window. ]
Roxi - Long day?
Lieutenant Murphy - Gah! Jesus, you scared the hell out of me.
Roxi - It's one of my many talents.
Lieutenant Murphy - How long have you been there?
Roxi - Long enough. I looked at the hard drive you gave me.
Lieutenant Murphy - And?
Roxi - You were right, People don't like you. A LOT of people don't like you.
Lieutenant Murphy - I already knew that.
Roxi - The list of suspects was a long one. Does the name Luke Wise mean anything to you?
Lieutenant Murphy - "Lucky" Louie? Yeah, threatened me in open court, ran a drug lab on the south side, I broke it up while I was in Vice. He got 10-20.
Roxi - He was a model prisoner, he only did 8 years. He's out.
Lieutenant Murphy - I cost him an empire, He'd love to see me in the ground. So, where do we find him?
Roxi - I'm working on it. In the meantime, I need you to follow up on a lead.
Lieutenant Murphy - Wait a minute. What am I, some wet eared rookie? I know how to conduct an investigation!
[ Roxi reaches over and snatches Murphy by the collar. ]
Roxi - Don't you get it! People are trying to kill you! Pay attention! Recently, The news did a report on the south side. Maybe the reporter heard something.
Lieutenant Murphy - I'll take care of it. What are you going to do?
Roxi - I'm going to make a few...inquiries.
Lieutenant Murphy - What's that supposed to mean?
[ She doesn't answer as she leaves out the window. ]
[ The scene switches to Allen, the middle-aged snitch from the beginning. He makes some kind of deal with someone, and then he begins to count his money. ]
Allen - Free enterprise, what makes America gr-AHH!
[ Without warning, once again, Roxi snatches him up and swings up to a nearby rooftop. ]
Roxi - Allen.
Allen - ...Not again.. I told you everything I know.
Roxi - Yeah, but that info didn't help me.
Allen - What is it now?
Roxi - Lucky Louie.
Allen - I...I haven't seen him in months. He's still in prison.
Roxi - I don't like it when you lie to me...
[Roxi punches Allen in the jaw, dropping him. She handcuffs his hands behind his back, and then sits a dazed Allen on his knees, and gets behind him.
Allen - What are you going to do?
Roxi - Whatever it takes.
Allen - I told you, I haven't seen him.
Roxi - Do you know the body has a lot of pressure points? All I have to do is touch you, and you'll feel a lot of pain. It's really simple. Let's see how much pain you can take...
[ Roxi stands behind Allen and extends her two index fingers. She traces lines on his head before resting her fingers behind the ears. Both fingers resting in the correct position. ]
Roxi - Ready?
Allen - What are you AGHHH!
[Roxi simply pushes her fingers towards each other creating a intense amount of pain. ]
Roxi - Anything coming to mind lately?
Allen - AGHHH! AHHH!
Roxi - I can't hear you...
Allen - Okay....OW! AH! AGHH! OKAY!
Roxi - See how easy that was? Now, let's talk.
