So, after all that, our hero is triumphant. Or kinda-sorta.
I'll admit, Chris Cable came to play last week. He was able to surprise me in a lot of ways. He kept up with me. He was able to prove himself worthy of the big time. Worthy of the main event spot he was put in. I have new found respect for Chris Cable, and obviously, MPW Brass does as well because he got his mug put on the poster for Uncivil war. So, after all that, I have to say... Great job Chris. I look forward to our next encounter. But first things first...
Iconic Aggression now has nothing. They are in full retreat mode. But if history has taught me anything, it's to expect the unexpected. And if Horror Movies have taught me anything it's that when you have the bad guy/monster down, that's when he comes back. The resistance has broken IA's strangle hold on MPW, and now, They have nothing left to show for all their tough talk and desperate acts. The end could not have come soon enough. But I'm not about to break out the party hats and streamers just yet. Trey Baxter reminds me so much of Cobra Commander that he'll probably rally the troops for one more charge in the near future. The battle is a long one, and it never ends. Maybe IA is dead. But I'm not counting on it. Because there are so many battles that have yet to be finished.
If it's not Chris Cable, it's Kurt Newman. Or Crow. Or Jackson Blaze, or others. It's always someone new. But that's what makes this a great place. I have to admit I am excited to go against Kurt Newman this week, seeing as how he was one of the guys I was really hoping to face early on. But he has up and left several times, but the company always brought him back, much to my personal satisfaction. I am really looking forward to this match, but Kurt Newman has earned a lot of respect for doing what he has done. No question eliminating Crow was a huge victory for the side of good. So much so, that I feel a real lack of villany here. It seems that MPW has finally been cleaned up. And sadly, just before the arrival of Zombie Eliot Ness. Man, we could have had a buddy cop thing going on there...Zombie and Me. I could smell the Emmy.
All kidding aside, Kurt Newman I know you're going to come out and give me all you have. I know you're going to come out and attempt to prove himself to be worthy, trust me, you don't really need to prove anything to me or anyone else. But this does not change what I must do. I am coming to Reloaded to win. This is what I do, what I always do. And as good as you are Kurt, and I know you are very good, I am going to be have shut you down in our match. I know you're in great shape, I know you're riding a high after wiping out Crow, but I am going to beat you because as MPW's champion, I set the pace for everyone here. I am the bar that is set. I am the champion of the people. I know that we are going to tear the house down come Reloaded. I know we will produce a great main event worthy of all the buzz the hype this match is getting. Everything will go exactly as we want it.
The only difference is, I get the victory.
See you there.
Lieutenant Murphy returns to his office and closes the door behind him. He looks up and sees a note attached to his fan that simply reads "The Roof." He turns and leaves his office and heads up to the roof, where Roxi is there waiting for him.
Lieutenant Murphy - What do you have?
Roxi - "Lucky" Luke. I know where he is. Running a crack operation on River side.
Lieutenant Murphy - Good. I'll meet you there in an hour.
Roxi - Be there. And we're doing this, by the book.
Lieutenant Murphy - What other way is there?
Roxi - Just...be there.
[ Roxi turns and swings off. ]
[ An hour later, Roxi and Murphy are scoping out the warehouse. ]
Lieutenant Murphy - Well?
Roxi - This doesn't seem right. Why would Luke warn you in the first place?
Lieutenant Murphy - Maybe he wanted to see me sweat, How should I know?
Roxi - Maybe...
[ They move in and sneak into the building where Luke himself is overseeing the shipping process of the crack. ]
Lucky Luke - Careful with the merch boys, you break it, you buy it. Got me?
Lieutenant Murphy - There he is.
Roxi - Yeah. Let's go.
[ As Murphy tries to figure his best approach, Roxi simple dives off the ledge, and lands on her feet and knocks over two of the henchmen. A third runs at her but she punches him in the gut and tosses him into a wall. As she readies herself for the next possible attacker, Luke raises his pistol and aims at her, but Murphy lowers himself down on a chain and shoots the pistol out of Luke's hand. ]
Lieutenant Murphy - Nobody move!
Lucky Luke - Well, Murph, one hell of an entrance. I guess she gave you some pointers. Too bad it went to waste.
[ Luke snaps his fingers and guns are aimed at Roxi and Murphy ]
Lucky Luke - 8 years. I waited for this. Icing the both on you will make me huge in this city.
Roxi - Yeah, Let's not do that.
[ Roxi produces a smoke bomb from her belt and gently tosses it on the ground. She pulls Murphy out of the way and goes on to fight the coughing, confused, blinded henchmen. After a minute the smoke has cleared, and only Luke stands. He turns to run away, but Murphy tackles him to the ground. He pulls up Luke and pushes him against the wall. ]
Lieutenant Murphy - You're really lucky it's the holiday season Luke. Otherwise, I might not be so forgiving for you trying to ice me. Or, maybe I'm not.
Lucky Luke - What are you...
[ Murphy raises his service pistol. ]
Roxi - I said by the book!
Lieutenant Murphy - Relax girlie. I got this. He doesn't get off that easy.
[ Murphy stands Luke up and begins to frisk him. ]
Roxi - You think it's over?
Lieutenant Murphy - It had to be Luke. It's over.
Roxi - It's your call.
Lieutenant Murphy - We got him...By the way, I still think you're a freak, and a menace, but...thanks.
Roxi - I'm flattered. You know just what to say to make a girl feel special.
Lieutenant Murphy - Yeah yeah yeah.
[ After all that. Murphy heads home and heads up the stairs to his building, when a gunman approaches him from behind. ]
Gunman - You should have taken my advice.
Lieutenant Murphy - What?
Gunman - I warned you to leave town. I told you to go. But you didn't listen.
Lieutenant Murphy - Wait...aren't you?
Gunman - Shut up.
[ As the gunman aims the gun, Roxi appears from behind and takes down the gunman before unmasking him...]
Lieutenant Murphy - Hastings?
Roxi - You're landlord?
Hastings - Why wouldn't you leave?
Lieutenant Murphy - This was all about my apartment?
Hastings - You are the worst tenant. I just wanted you to leave.
Lieutenant Murphy - This is so...absurd.
[ Murphy begins to handcuff Hastings.
Roxi - I knew this wasn't over.
Lieutenant Murphy - Well, I guess that's two I owe you..
Roxi - Forget it Murphy, you have enough problems.
[ Roxi swings away. ]
