Two weeks ago, is was a bad night. I can take those. I can live with people have to form teams to beat me. Happens all the time. I can accept that. I was prepared to accept that.
But last week was humiliating. Last week was just awful. How could I lose to Christian Carter. It was just infuriating. It was embarassing. This guy ran his mouth about women, and I couldn't beat him. I suppose I should take solace in the face that Kurt Newman ran to run down and interfere, but I can't. I am ashamed of that defeat last week. It's going to take weeks to wipe that from my memory. It seems that the only good thing for me these past few weeks is the fact that Florida State took their rightful spot at #1 in college football. At least someone from my state had a good week.
Anyway, two weeks ago it was me letting my guard down facing Kurt Newman, and last week...ugh. I don't want to talk about it anymore. This week, I get both Christian Carter and Kurt Newman in a cage with me and Soul Shadow. This week has gotten me so infuriated and angry that I can't even think straight anymore. Kurt Newman wants to play rough, he wants to turn up the voltage, fine. That's the way we'll play it Kurt. I'm warning you - no, you know what, I'm not warning you. I'm going to tell you right now, I'm going to the ring and I'm going to tear you apart. You want to play the one-upsmanship game and taunt me? Bigger and badder men have tried, but you've earned yourself a special place, running a close second to Drake Hunter in terms of hatred. You have surpassed both Jackson and Trey. You are 2nd all time. So, I'm going to make this a personal goal of mine to beat you like a dusty rug. You started it Kurt, I'm going to finish it.
Christian, oh, Christian After all you've said about women, you just may get double.
And soul, just pull your weight.
I'm not in the mood for this.
[ It's a dark night, and a small girl runs for her very life. She turns, dipping and dodging down alleyways as best she can. ]
Girl - No! Leave me alone!
[ She continues to run, not caring which way, just to create enough distance to escape. But she's finally cornered after she runs into a dead end. Two men walk down the alley stalking her. ]
Man #1 - There she is.
Man # 2 - C'mon sweetheart, we're good people.
Girl - Go away!
[ We see tears start coming down her face as the two men close in on her, but all hope is not lost! ]
Roxi - Excuse me boys, I don't think she wants to go with you.
Man #1 - Buzz off Super-tights. This is none of your business.
Roxi - First of all, it is my business when people try to harm small children. Second...super tights? What are you, 7?
Man #1 - Adrian, go ice that super skank.
[ The second man charges Roxi, who has already taken her staff out of her belt and extended it behind her back. As soon as he's close enough, she casually trips him and jams the end of the staff into his stomach. The first man sees this and tries his luck, but he fairs no better as Roxi flips him over and gets on top, jabbing him in the nose with her staff, effectively breaking it. With the two taken care off, Roxi catches up with the cry girl. ]
Roxi - You're out a little late don't you think?
Girl - Leave me alone.
Roxi - Whoa, hold on. It's alright, I'm one of the good guys. I'm not going to hurt you.
Girl - I can take care of myself.
Roxi - I'm sure you can. But I think we need to get you home.
Girl - I AM home.
[ Roxi looks around at the less than stellar area. ]
Roxi - Charming. But you're way too young to be out here on your own. We need to get you back to your parents.
Girl - I've been alone as long as I can remember.
Roxi - Okay, let's start over. What is your name?
Girl - Paula.
Roxi - Okay Paula, I'm going to be honest here, I can't really allow you to stay out here, it's too dangerous.
Paula - No it's not.
Roxi - Then why were two men trying to catch you?
Paula - They...they work for that man.
Roxi - What man?
Paula - I don't know.
Roxi - Okay, calm down. Listen, you don't have anyplace to go, you don't have any family, and you can't stay on the streets. If there's someone after you, you need to find someone to help.
Paula - What about you?
Roxi - I'm trying, but you won't let me.
Paula - I can't stay in one place too long.
Roxi - Then let's get you somewhere we he can't come after you.
Paula - He always finds me.
Roxi - You do realize as long as you're out here, they're going to chase you. They're going to come for you. You need to let someone help you. Like the shelter.
Paula - I can't go back there.
Roxi - You can't stay on the streets.
Paula - Then..can I come with you?
Roxi - With me? I don't think so.
Paula - Why not? I'll be safe with you, right?
Roxi - Yeah but...
Paula - Then let's go.
[ Paula begins running as Roxi turns on her wrist communicator ]
Vision - What's up?
Roxi - Vision, I think we're about have an addition in the house.
Vision - Why does that not sound good?
Roxi - It's this little girl. I don't know what else to do.
Vision - Try the orphanage Rox.
Roxi - She says someone is after her. I think she'll be safe at my place until we sort this out.,
Vision - Something tells me this will not end well.
Roxi - Does it ever for me?
Vision - Point taken. This probably isn't the best time to practice parenting.
Roxi - I have natural motherly instincts.
Vision - Really? Where is she now?
[ Roxi looks around and Paula is no where to be found. ]
Roxi - Not a word.
[ Roxi gives chase. ]
