(The scene opens.
It is early morning, peaceful and quiet in Millennium park, Chicago as Aeryn Ashfield takes her morning run. Her steady pace around the black tarmac path is being trailed by her hot breath mixing with the cold winter air, causing a short stream of could to momentarily track her motion.
As she rounds a corner, appearing from a clearing of trees her path takes her down towards a lake, the view of it framed by the hazy orange of the early morning glow of the sun makes her pull up short. The view is so striking that she cant help herself but to stop and take it in. Deciding that it is a good time to take a break from her routine she wanders down towards the waters edge, finding a large rock to perch her self on top of. She listens to the gentle lapping of the water at her feet for a few moments. So relaxing, so tranquil...)
Aeryn: This lake is so peaceful, so beautiful, it's almost like a sheet of glass it's so still on the surface...
(She picks up a small stone and starts to absent mindedly twist it between her fingers.)
Aeryn:...Two weeks ago myself and Valentina Madison were victim to an unprovoked attack...no..we were victim to an attempted murder. An attempted murder on live television as an unknown driver rammed a car into the dumpster that myself and Valentina had fallen into...
(She holds up the stone using it to represent the car as she drives it towards her other hand. Her left hand opening, making an exploding motion as the two make contact.)
Aeryn:...BOOM....that dumpster was the only thing that saved our lives that day, and now that I am cleared to wrestle again I will be looking for the piece of trash that tried to take us out...tried to take me out!....
(Aeryn looks down at the stone and raises her arm, launching it far in to the lake.)
Aeryn: ...You see that. Much like that placid lake when disturbed the surface ripples and bubbles, the ripples are sent far and wide, but eventually it settles and calms again back to it's placid state. It looks like it always did, but the lake is now forever changed with the impact of that stone...
This week the first ripple of that impact has reached out and touched its first target. The tag team of Jason X and Chris Cable.
(Aeryn pauses for a moment)
Aeryn:...Unlucky boys.
(Aeryn wipes her hair back from her face.)
Aeryn: Am I supposed to be impressed?! ... you've been unbeaten in tag team competition since you joined forces...what was that about three weeks ago? You won a few matches and all of a sudden your the best tag team the MPW has to offer?
(A small snort of disdain escapes Aeryns.)
Aeryn: ... I think some of that peroxide dye you've been using on that yellow streak you call a hair style, has started to effect your memory boy! Have you forgotten what happened to you the last time we met one on one in a ring together? You got your arse beat and bloodied, I took the then TV Title holder and made him my bitch...you were my bitch, Jason and by the look of it you still are one. You still don't grant any respect where its more than proven to be due. You couldn't beat me one on one , what makes you think you and Chris Cable stand a chance against myself and Soul Shadow?!
You and Chris maybe an unbeaten tag team but my self and Soul, Phoenix Rising are an unbeaten juggernaut. Every single team, every single obstacle that has been thrown into our path we have torn through without hesitation. So I feel obliged to warn you that your dream of sending us a warning with this match and taking our tag titles with the next is just that, an illusion...mostly caused by you tripping off your hair dye.
And if you dont believe me, please go and ask Trey Baxter and Jackson Blaze..oh wait, you cant. After we destroyed them and took their tag titles Iconic Aggression decided to leave the MPW after we made them bleed gold and their own blood all over the arena.
My point being is that you can make all of the brash, bold claims that you like. But what you dont seem to have taken into account is that we...Phoenix Rising...are no longer the rag tag team thrown together in order to further your title hopes Jason. We are not the same people that competed against you in the Roll of the Dice match Chris. We have changed, we have evolved and galvanised into a deadly tag team, a tag team which both of you are now chasing...my, my how times have changed.
(Aeryn looks out over the water once more.)
Just like the surface of that water was broken by that stone, we to have been beaten and broken to get where we are. Just like the impact of that stone, we to have sent ripples across the entire MPW and just like that lake has been forever changed, so have we. After every battle that we have been through to get these titles to think that we would lose them so easily is not only foolish but also down right disrespectful!...and if there is one thing I am tired of around the MPW it is being disrespected.
You maybe the first to be touched by the ripples that the actions of two weeks ago caused, but you will certainly not be the last, we will keep going and growing. The fire of the phoenix is burning brighter than ever, and anyone that gets to close is going to get burned. See you fellows in the ring....you have been warned!
(Aeryn picks up another stone and lobs it into the lake. She walks away, as the camera fades out it focuses in on the circle of ripples expanding ever outwards.)
