SCENE 1
[The scene opens to a small Hot Dog stand in the middle of a sunny park. The grass is green and the sky is blue creating a very friendly looking environment. The blazing purple words WESTIN'S HOT DOG PARLOR can clearly be seen written on the striped umbrella of the stand. Standing behind the modest establishment is none other than Maxwell A. Nickelson. Sporting a Chef's Hat and Apron, he happily serves Weenies to customers young & old. A scrawny gentleman walks up to the MPW Star with a wad of cash clutched tight in his fist. We can see he's probably a couple years older than Max but still very young. He runs his fingers through his straw colored hair before speaking]
Customer: Hello sir. Is this the infamous Westin's Hot Dog Parlor?
[He says this with a very noticeable British accent]
M.A.N: The very same!
[Suddenly his eyes widen]
Customer: Then you must be....MAX NICKELSON?!
[If such a thing is possible, Max brightens up even more]
M.A.N: The very same!
Customer: Well it's great to finally meet you! The name's George Whitford.
[George extends his hand. Maxwell shakes it but with a confused expression on his face]
M.AN: If you don't mind me asking, what exactly do you mean by "finally meet me"?
[George looks taken aback]
George: Well don't ya know that you have a whole legion of fans? People look up to you Nickelson and I'm one of em! I've been waiting for this moment for a while now
M.A.N: Really?
George: Really! In fact, you're the bloody reason I'm here in Pennsylvania. I left my hometown of London to make you an offer.
[M.A.N. raises an eyebrow before throwing his hat and apron to a teenage girl. He steps out the booth after giving one final wave to the line of hungry customers. The scene fades to black while he strolls along the park with George]
SCENE 2
[Maxwell & his new found friend are sitting at a River Bank licking strawberry ice cream cones. The duo is deep in conversation when M.A.N. pops a question]
M.A.N: So let me get this straight: you want to become my manager?
George: Exactly! Randy Nytrus is your trainer, correct?
[M.A.N. Nods]
George: He conditions you. Get's you ready physically. I, on the other hand, am here for the mental aspect. Being a former wrestler myself, I know a lot about the psychology of wrestling.
M.A.N: I could sure use all the help I could get, especially with two opponents this week. I'm mighty nervous Georgey!
[George smiles confidently, hoping Max would say this]
George: That's what I figured. But you can't let them make you feel that way. Jason X especially is like a shark; he feeds off of blood!
[M.A.N. appears horrified]
M.A.N: HUH?! Like....Like...JAWS?!
[George chuckles]
George: I guess you could say that. So, what do you think you should do?
[M.A.N. thinks for a moment]
M.A.N: Well, I guess it's what momma always says: stand up for yourself! Maybe it isn't always the safest choice but It's what's right. I'm willing to sacrifice almost anything to be the very best I can in that ring and if that means I put my body in harms way so I can show Jason what I'm made of, that's fine by me! The greasy haired slime ball thinks he's all that & a slice of bread. Sure, Xavier's won his fair share of TV Titles but that's no reason for him to act the way he does. Jason X has put himself on some type of pedestal. It's time someone knocks him down and I guess there's no reason I can't be that someone!
[George gives Nickelson a little gulf clap]
George: I guess that Steele brother was right.
M.A.N: How do you mean?
George: You do have a bloody fire lit under your arse!
[They both laugh for quite some time before George changes subjects]
George: What about the real elephant in the room? Kayley Hale. Thought about her much?
[M.A.N's face darkens]
M.A.N: I have...It's just....just...just...
George: Spit it out mate!
M.A.N: She's way too nice!
[M.A.N. Looks up, expecting to see his manager horrified. Instead there's a look of pity on the Brit's face. He pats M.A.N. on the shoulder before speaking up]
George: I do believe she's a nice girl. I really do. But you need to believe people like me & Adam when we tell you she's dangerous...
M.A.N: She's the sweetest girl you'll ever meet!
[George shakes his head]
George: That's where you're wrong Max. Kayley is a different animal when she steps between those ropes. Go back and watch tapes from her matches in PWU...
M.A.N: ...I have!
George: Then you would know what this bubbly ass red headed chick is made of dammit!
[M.A.N. Sighs]
M.A.N: I guess I do know. She's just been so nice to me, ya know? We're friends George. I don't want to ruin that...But I also don't want to lose this match. Because, truth be told, I've had an unfortunate lack of victories as of late. This match is a big one. It's really nothing personal with Kayley. Quite frankly, I don't care for Jason X very much but there's no real vendetta between the two of us either, at least not yet. This match? It's to prove to myself and the world that I still got it and I'm far from done. 2014 will be the year of a new dawn, a new day and a new blood within this great sport....This is the year of Maxwell A. Nickelson!
