I walk into what is my next destination that day and that is the "Chicago Morning Show" which I was going to be on the morning before the High Stakes PPV. I laugh inside at the difference in contrast that the two buildings which I had come to see in the lovely city of Chicago, Illinois had. One towering over nearly the entire city and the next looking like just another building. The security guide who led me in as fans had packed the outside of the building at hearing that Chris Cable would arrive at the show and do an interview, I head up another elevator which felt like I had been in all morning before arriving at the set of the show. it was funny seeing the differences between watching the show from a TV and from behind the scenes. On TV the set looks huge with the desk seeming like it's 10 miles long but in reality is actually quite small. I walk behind a cameraman looking from his perspective before getting tapped on the back from who obviously looked like the director
Yeah high Cable the names Monica and I'am the director of the "Chicago Morning Show", pleased to meet you [we shake hands] You will be on right after this segment were you will get about 10-15 minutes to promote "High Roller"..
Cable: It's High Stakes
We share a laugh before the ad break goes on and she realises that I needed to be on stage
Monica:Oh shit, your're on now Chris, all you need to know is that the presenters names are Michael Jones and Anna Fields
I get literally pushed onto stage where the fastest meet and great i've ever done is as I get a quick make-up check and shake the hands of the presenters where suddenly the director tells there is 5 seconds and the show comes back from intermission
Michael: Hello and welcome back viewers, now today we have a very special guest as we introduce someone that has along with a new company in town MPW have made leaps and bounds in becoming known to all of America and the world in fact, this man is a 11x Tag Team Champion, 2x WWC TV champion and a 5x World Champion, he is "C Double" Chris Cable
CableHello, good to be here
Anna: Well good to have you here Cable, first question and it's something that Michael and I have been itching to ask you and that is how do you spend so long on the road away from your family and friends for so long? Does it get lonely at times?
Cable: Well you see Anna, when someone decides that they want to follow their dream of becoming a pro-wrestler you have to make sacrifices, and I made some huge ones. I left my home nation of "The Land Down Under" Australia to come to the USA and wrestle. I haven't seen my family in ages, well except for my brother and mother but that's a different story. The question relating to being lonely is that yer sometimes I do but doesn't everyone? This job is grueling but the people I have met and the friends I have made on the road has meant that I barely regret taking on this job
Michael: Cable, talking of coming from a different nation, recently you have come up against a man that you will face at the next MPW PPV High Stakes in the man who also comes from overseas in Taulfik, he had some recent comments about you, what are your thoughts on that and your general thoughts on him?
My expression changes when he mentions Taulfik's name
Cable: Well the thing about Taulfik is that obviously when he was younger and trying to blow up whatever he got close to that the impact on his brain must of really hurt his brain development because he comes out to the ring dissing the country that has gracefully taken in people like myself and taulfik, he has spat all over America a place that I now call my home. I may be from another country but I've been living here a good 5 years now and seeing people disrespect this great nation is a shame. Taulfik goes onto bag the fans, without the fans MPW and the entire wrestling world would not be here, he wouldn't have a job right now and instead would be in the Middle East blowing up rocks beside his hut. So everyone who wants to see me, Chris Cable beat the holy shit out of Taulfik in a Last Man Standing match with an elbow than follow up by making sure he stops running his mouth and wasting the money of all those great paying customers again
Anna: Chris, I've heard you talk of respect a lot and it seems that you feel there is a lack of respect in MPW so what do you think need to be done to gain first you respect and the admiration of all these fans
Cable: Anna, there is one thing in this business that keeps me loving it and that is the respect to wrestling and the people who built this awesome thing we have today. When people like Johnny, Rage, Blaze and Balloon Head Taulfik go to that ring and talk shit not respecting the fans and people like Madd Katt make me puke. When you look at great guys like Drake Hunter, Aidan Caine, Apostle Kried and the many more fantastic wrestlers in MPW and the world you see the good side of wrestling and the people who keep the wrestling world alive. Taulfik hit a nerve and he knows that and now It's mine turn to shut him up and leave him in the hospital where the only person he can complain to is morphine
Michael: Apart from what promises to be a cracker of a match between yourself and Taulfik, what else can MPW fans expect from the first ever PPV?
Cable: People can expect the best show ever seen in the history of television. We have my buddy Drake Hunter taking on Johnny Clash in a match to see who the best in NYCCW was, the card also includes a ROTD match which will see the winner getting a world title shot whenever they want and last but definitely not least is a match which will crown the first ever world champion in MPW where my man Trey Baxter takes on a guy that just wont STFU in Jackson Blaze in a 3 stage of hell match, good luck to Trey in the match
Michael:Well, it seems like we are out of time, but remember everyone to tune in live on PPV for High Stakes to see Chris Cable and all the other big stars of MPW
After thanking the presenters and the crew I signed some autographs outside before heading for the airport where I would make my way to the first ever MPW PPV, it had been a hard long road so far but tonight things where going to change. Win, lose draw I don't care because I want to get my hands on Taulfik and teach him that no one disrespects me and show the rest of the world that Chris Cable has just started and that after i dispatch of Taulfik it's off to winning title belts and proving all those people who I had come across in my career that tried to stop me that nothing can de-rail something that is heading straight to the top of the mountain
