Hey MPW fans! It's the MPW Media Insider with the media reaction to our debut show! And the results are fantastic! Not only did the event garner a bundle of media attention, but just look at TEW.com's review!
Match #1- Boyd vs Caine vs Baxter
B+
A great way to start off the show, the effort displayed by both Caine and Baxter carried the match, unfortunately, Boyd seemed somewhat distracted, and it did hurt the quality slightly. We are hopeful that he will be able to focus in the future, as all three of these young superstars have obvious talent. Overall reaction: A great match to start the legacy of MPW, and something that is sure to draw viewers in and keep them there.
Match #2- Toby Foster vs Jason Extreme
B+
A great showing from both men, both men contributed to the entertainment of the fans, and they were clearly dedicated to providing good entertainment. A fun exchange leading up to the match, and they certainly continued their chemistry into the match. Overall Reaction: A great followup to a hard to follow up match.
Match #3- Drake Hunter vs Justin Ficher
B
A bit slower than the last match, but still very enjoyable. Both men performed well and put the fans first during the match. Overall Reaction: Successfully continued the excitement and buzz created by the first two matches.
Match #4- Taufik vs Jackson Blaze
B+
Great match in a sea of great matches, the crowd was hot at this point, and it seemed to make the match even more enjoyable. Both men worked hard and came out shining. Overall Reaction: Kept the nearly unmaintainable excitement maintained for at least one more match.
Match #5 Chris Cable vs Apostle Kried vs Rye Payne
B
Cable and Apostle both worked hard, but Rye Payne was on a different page tonight, it was unfortunate, because the match was very good. It would have been nice to have all three men on their game, as that would have made this match of the year material. Overall Reaction: A great match and a fine way to close out the show, but we couldn't help thinking it could have been so much more as we were watching.
General Segments added a great edge and story element to the event, and each segment was well done, showing no weak spots in the acting abilities of the roster.
Total show rating, A-
Overall reaction: A great first show, we are very excited with the potential of MPW, it will be exciting to see what they decide to do next, as it will be hard to top such a strong start for this fledgling company. This show will do much to increase the popularity of MPW.
