Hey hey hey it's everyone's favorite media inside man, the only good thing about corporate media networks! And I've got the media reaction to last nights event! So, let's go ahead and run the numbers and see what we've got!
John Fisherman def. Jason Xavier
Match Rating (via Totalextremewrestling.com): A
Reaction: A fantastic first match after some interesting twists to start the show. Fisherman came off looking strong, but Xavier held his own with a more than solid performance, we always think MPW can't keep up their intensity every match, but so far we've yet to see them even falter.
Freddie Styles def. Xavier Daniels
Match Rating: C+
Reaction: Freddie Styles worked hard out there, he's got a lot of heart, and is willing to do just about anything for MPW. Unfortunatley, he's yet to reach his full potential in terms of skill. We've got a lot of hope for his future, and we should see great things if he continues with his desire to shine in the industry. Xavier Daniels for his part, stood in the ring and took bumps. Hopefully it was an off day for him, we'll be looking for a better performance from him next week.
Rage def. Taufik
Match Rating: B+
Reaction: Rage is someone who can keep the fans excited about a show, and Taufik is someone who can put on a good match. Rage looked great, he clearly wanted to put on a good match, and did everything in his power to make it happen. Taufik is a ring general who can always be trusted to be consistant and solid in the ring. He's yet to have even a moment where he's caught out of position or not paying his full attention to the match. Together they combined to put the event back on track, and to put on a great match. Nothing legendary, but one that is needed in every event.
Jackson Blaze def. Kurt Newman (Trey Baxter Guest Commentary)
Match Rating: A
Reaction: Can we just say we LOVE Jackson Blaze? We haven't seen a heel so good at being a heel in a long, long time. He's not only a heel outside of the ring, but he manages to remind you how evil he is while actually wrestling! That is a skill that is hard to master. Kurt Newman is another one of our favorite MPW superstars, he's comedy gold, never afraid to do things that are completely ridiculous, and he always manages to put a smile on anyone's face, no matter what the hell he's trying to do. But unlike most comics in the industry, Kurt backs it up with great wrestling. Trey Baxter supported this great match with some insightful commentary, and the whole thing, despite being a storyline tool, was a great match.
Aiden Caine def. Apostle Kried for the MPW North American Championship
Match Rating: A
Reaction: A great main event, both of these guys are exciting, talented, and masters of their craft. This match highlighted their talents in an extreme rules falls count anywhere environment. While Apostle's younger fanbase might have been slightly put off by the vast amounts of blood involved, we at TEW thought it was fantastic. The chemistry between these two was unbelievable. They pulled off a great match, after pulling off an equally great build involving a Twitter war that had us glued to Twitter all week long. A great main event led to a great finish. Aiden Caine ended up with the title, but we think MPW should be putting Aiden Caine on the short list for the World Heavyweight Championship.
Event Rating: A-
That's a dandy review if I do say so myself, I for one, can't wait until next week, the Supershow is going to blow the roof off the place. here's some important numbers 'n stuff.
Attendance: 3335/7500 (Up about 1,300 from last week! I guess advertising does pay off!)
TV Rating... no way... this... this can't be right? Let me... hold on... THAT'S RIGHT? HOLY... ... ...
Umm... okay,
TV Rating: 17,527 (13,000 viewer increase)
... I guess Cops was a rerun...
...and Storage Wars...
Half Hour 1: 17466
Half Hour 2: 17504
Half Hour 3: 17490
Half Hour 4: 17649
That's amazing, I've never seen a rating jump like that, I guess there was more to that whole 'tell your friends' thing than I thought. Thank you all so much, MPW is dedicated to making sure you get the best there is in the Pro Wrestling buisness, please watch the Supershow next week, and be sure to come back for the media reaction!
Later marks!
